Update 3

Just wanted to start a discussion with a few things I've noticed, I think these will be fixed but just wanted to point them out.

Raft flumes are looking a lot better, but the ones that have been updated, the runout end pieces seem to have a pool that's higher than the now rounded bottoms, so now rafts will float up into it. The single rider raft seems to be spinning still, but it moves around a lot better. The double seater raft seems to have a weird texture going on in the runout. And each raft for all 3 seems to be sitting on the track piece rather than the starting position before guests board.

The Vector 4 seater, I think a lot of people want to be able to make the default train longer, we can currently make the alternative dethemed train longer which is great.

Please, at some point, give us that orange terrain from Planet Coaster 1, I thought because we were getting western that it may make an appearance and we can make our big thunder mountain bootleg coasters!

Yes for the Vector 4 seater. While the two trains are correct for that specific model, i feel going for the standard 4 -5 cars (Formula, Abyssus, Lech Coaster, etc.) is better as those are way more in common and since we dont have that fighter jet theming i think many people would love to build coasters to the more similar vekoma rides than picking the obscure one in china.
 
A thing I found was that the cowboy-animatronics a way to big (20-30% to big).
Since animatronics can't be resized, they are much to big to use in most cases.
Also the animations are very limited...

Please resize them to be as big as an adult guest.
 
Quite a disappointment not being able to use the full career maps. Specifically the specialized water is off limits, meaning we cannot build over them with anything, they have barrier boundaries like the edges of the base sandbox biomes. This was the main thing I was excited about, and it's a huge disappointment.
 
Anyone else getting guests walking across water when they're in the pool? They just suddenly pop up and stand on the surface for a while.
 
the 4k bluepeint was removed before update 3, now it got readded again to the game. Frontier i dont care if you put that limit on your workshop, but atleast let us pc players save our own stuff above 4k pieces for our own use. I mostly build my bigger rides in a seperate park and then move them into my mega park. This is simply not possible anymore :(
 
Just popped in to see what people are saying about the update. I am not particularly interested in the western theme so not coming back yet but I wanted to know what the thinking is on it.

Oh no I didn't know the 4k was gone for a bit. That's a big issue for me. Let us save larger local blueprints, at least on PC, for personal use.
 
Yes the animatronics are way too big, (also they are missing eyelashes, making them look a bit strange, compared other ingame people)

There seems some shadow casting issue or so, but if you turn the exact piece 180° it looks darker

- various beams are a good example, why we can't use PC1 asset directly:

One side has clear wooden texture, the other side has a 'washed and ugly' wooden texture. (doesn't look that bad on screen, but looks almost crazy ingame)

- Congurated Iron roof, all: Uhm what happened there?

- Wooden Tile roofs: We got 1m, 2m, 4m slope, but only got 2m eaves and with that only the 4m and corner varition. Seriously limiting the roof options to basically 2m sloped roofs or only use them with some other wooden pieces (which some top pieces have an overhang)


All in all texture quality: Since there are many. Some texture quality is really bad upscaled, make the look clunky and ugly, which let them stand out like a sore thumb, when zoomed in (similar effect like on the water rides)

Its problems like these that make me loose hope in frontiers handling of the game and its updates. Is there no quality control? Does frontier only test the update for 1 hour and be done with it? I just cant understand how stuff like this keeps happening again and again :/

Again, involving your community, maybe releasing updates on steams beta branch and so on would eliminate small issues and lack of attention.

Dear Frontier we appreciate that you're probably working hard to fix issues, but if you're providing updates, please have a quality control before release!

A positive thing I noticed is that the scenery ratings don't drop to 0% after loading a saved game before it will get it's original rating again after a while (go karts and powered rotating ride).

That's actually realistic. Many times animatronics are larger than humans, because they are placed a bit far from the vehicles and they would look too small if they were human sized:

Simple solution: let us scale animatronics.
I dont understand why these limitations. Maybe they are just to lazy to edit the parts to scale up correctly?
I remember sometime before update 2 i somehow bugged the game to let me scale an animated object. So it is somehow possible

This is like the tree animations. It's just SO BAD. Like there is absolutely no quality control. I am thinking I might just uninstall at this point and never look back if this is just the way it's going to be moving forward. So depressing.

Not only do textures not fit together but many are very low resolution compared to the same or similar pieces in the previous games. This also applies to plants. Plant textures are almost all a step back from Planet Zoo for some reason. This is extra baffling when you consider the fact that things can be scaled up to 200% now, where the textures really look bad. Some pieces look straight out of a PS1 game when scaled up to 200%.
 
I would like to thank Frontier for bringing back the Western theme. We have almost all the items from the original theme, but I don't understand many things:

1 - Why 2 items that are visible in the promotional images are not available?

Oof, those textures. I do wonder if it'd be possible for them to do a similar thing with how paths work, like paths is one massive repeating texture no matter where you put it, maybe they could expand on that idea for roofs/walls within a grid when people build scenery pieces.

As for some of the items that aren't in game, maybe they didn't finish things in time, the screenshot above could just have the items ported from PC1, but most things from PC have been reworked/remodelled.
