Medium Agri settlement on the moon doesn't love me anymore 💔 No options to request docking. Tried logging out and trying again - no dice.
 
As far as I can tell the last 2 weeks of both space and ground construction has not really been created.all space installations still have a defunct construction platform. My planet side stuff shows as built but I don't see any changes can't access them and there's no changes to markets anywhere.

Oh and my build points are not refunded so I have loads of tier 3 zero tier 2 naking building further structures problematic
 
I didn't know that's a bug. I thought it was based on system stats or something. Hope it gets fixed. I just want to use my own stations to build things instead of making runs to other systems
Basic functions like missions, docking or shipyard (just to store ships) would be absolutely enough at this point.

The influencing system with goods and for example what kind of ships to buy at shipyard, or what weapons or modules is an other point.

If that takes time to work its ok, but with no basics the system feels "dead".

That's true. It sounds like some people have had shipyards and missions, I haven't yet. My system is a bit out of the way from the trailblazer ships. I have a 6 slot HMC planet I'm trying to build up to sell almost all building materials or as many as I can so I can solo build an orbital starport easier
 
What I see in "my" colonized system after a month of beta testing.

  • Problem with faction generation in the colonized system (confirmed bug, not fixed).
  • Problem with the market at some outposts. Empty market, nothing is sold or bought. (confirmed bug, not fixed).
  • After building orbital installations, they were not turned on after 2 weeks of waiting and promises from FDev.
  • No changes in the economy even with the "correct" placement of stations, outposts, installations and settlements.
  • 269 pages in the feedback thread, but not a single thread or response from the developers.
  • When contacting support, I get a response about confirming bugs, but without confirmation that they will ever be fixed.
The desire to spend time and effort on something that does not work and cannot be fixed tends to zero.

P.S.: I am waiting for at least some kind of response from the developers.
 
Yeah, i feel you, with the current goddawful game design, im only left to assume the worse about the devs and the future of this update, and the lack of communication really doesn't help there. Seems like the stream was there only for the investors, show some pretty numbers about player engagement, show off the next ship you are going to sell and not ever address the feedback.
 
I have left and come back to my system a couple times and it appears the station has come back online. It has commodities listed in the system map and "dockable" ports number in system info is back to normal
 
Logged in and my station is finally up and spinning, however, I've got completed projects reading '0' completion in spite of having a full bar and construction hubs still littering my system. Fun times as always. :p

Game design isnt the problem at the moment.

The problem at the moment is that the game doesn't work as designed. Stations not becoming active. Then stations becoming active, but markets not becoming active. BGS not working, daily ticks not happening, conflicts not resolving. Expansions not happening.

Etc.

Would love to actually beta test the game design, but currently we just run from one bug to the next.
 
Jumped in to check this week's tick. Looks like the second system is at least paying now which I'm assuming means there's a population and service. Primary system's BGS is still stuck, and has been for 10 days straight.
 
So just to echo many points previously posted. (Been playing ED since 2016).
Hopefully some basic colony aspects will be addressed soon, otherwise I see Colonization falling flat.
* I have a system with a Tier 3 Starport and over 10 surface/orbital installations.
** All of the orbital installations still show construction sites, even though they were completed over a week ago.
** Main Tier 3 Starport still has just Hydrogen and "Poop" to sell despite the system having a farm base and mining base, research facility, Tourism site, and medical facility.
** Weekly system architect payout did increase (yayy thanks). However, system Happiness is still at 0% with well over 100K population. (With Medical, Farming, and Tourism facilities in place, no moment whatsoever on the happiness? I don't get it?)
** Clearly no significant update for my Colony taking place as when I view the system from Inara, none of the Stations or facilities are represented, the population figure is off and not other details other than a listing for a surface station (that doesn't exist, anyway...???)

I think the Colonization aspect has a lot of potential, but after grinding hard for a few weeks now since Trailblazers launch, it's extremely difficult to stay motivated when you do tons of hauling (I have only one other player who has been able to assist at various times), and all you effort shows little to no meaning.
Hopefully improvements soon along with much more detailed documentation. New ships are nice and appreciated, but please address the Colonization issues/bugs sooner rather than later.

Good points, and FD definitely has to address them.

The Inara update issue though isn't FD's problem, it's the other way around. Inara (and EDSM) have to adjust to Trailblazer data.

The lack of communication regarding basic mechnanisms is highly frustrating.
Especially stuff like:
  • When do markets get updated?
  • When do facilities&services get updated?
  • Or population?
  • What does stuff like "Wealth", "Standard of Living", "Development" or "Happiness" even mean?

This is not a beta test, it is an exercise in frustration and futility.
We are supposed to "test" stuff without knowing any requirements at all?! To test anything meaningfully, we need to have at least a basic idea of what is supposed to happen, and when. Otherwise we have no chance of knowing whether anything is working close to being designed, or not at all. All the while we pump your customer service full of mails and issues and tickets.

You are basically telling us:
"look, here is a test case, it takes around 6-30 hours to complete. We don't tell you what the test case is, or what to do, and neither what the expected results are. And here is one sheet of paper with a high level abstract of what the system is supposed to do".
My users would escalate something like this faster than i can count to ten. And THEY even get paid for testing.

So yeah, my level of tolerance has now been exceeded.
I like colonization and find it fun.
But the unprofessional non-communication of this "Beta Test" by Frontier is neither fun, nor tolerable.

Go and test your systems yourself.
I mean, you didn't even test them enough to have the correct landing pads in the settlement descriptions. what? This is just sloppy.
Or actually communicate in a professional manner regarding features, test objects, what it is you want to be tested, how the system actually works. Like, on a basic level.
If you aren't able to do so, we will simply leave again in droves, so that the Elite Dangerous system switch back to an amount of traffic that do not exceed their limitations and break the whole game.

I am not willing anymore to pump hours upon hours into the game without any clue what is actually supposed to happen, or when, or whether it did, or whether it works as planned or doesn't.

EDIT:
For understanding my colonization frustration:
Week1: Claimed a system for my faction and started to build an Orbis. Built an Orbis in a week. Figured out this does not work and i am stuck in the poop and gas meta. Built some settlements and installations. Couldn't build a Coriolis around the sun, because placement is bugged. Left the system.
Week2: Built a Coriolis for a squadron mate. Scouted systems and communicated to the squadron. Finished the Coriolis 1 hour before weekly update. Just in time. Only for it to not come online. So no online station, no market. The outpost he built to start the system didn't come online either. So no missions and no possibility to BGS for our squadron faction.
Week3: Continued to build up my mates system. Helped two other mates to build a Coriolis. Wanted to flip a system colonized in week1 to our squadron. We played BGS, initiated conflict, and have a running conflict now for 6 days, and the game says we are on day2.

Today started week4. What i wanted to have, is an area with my squadron where we can build systems. Build up a ressource system. We did that. We delivered. We delivered 100s of thousands of tons. I personally probably around 200k over 3 weeks.

Everything else, everything that was supposed to work from Frontier's side?
Launch: Hardly any communication at all. About starting locations. About building tier 2 and 3 economies.
1st Thursday: Everything fine.
2nd Thursday: No station. No possibility to play BGS in the newly colonized system. No market. Other BGS is not working.
3rd Thursday: Again no market. No idea when this is supposed to happen. No idea whether this is a bug.

It is like Charlie Brown with Lucy and the Football.
You try to arrange the game around Frontier, around what works and what doesn't, only to have the ball pulled away again.

So i am rather annoyed now.
