How do we feel about quails? I don't think a third bird is likely, and they're far from my first choice for one, but I do think they'd be a very cute addition and would make a great filler animal.
Here are some holdings, not the most common animals - certainly not worldwide - but not insanely rare either.
I could see some people (understandably) finding them far too small, but I'd be okay with some janky hitboxes if it means having them as habitat animals at all. A turkey would probably be the better American galliforme, but idk I just really associate these guys with the American desert vibe this pack seems heavy on.

Like most birds I would be super happy with it.
A california quail would be straight fire ngl. Not just a bird, but a new kind with new uses thats colorfull and unique looking, decently common in zoos and even adds something genuinly cool to the north american desert in this pack besides filler carnivore and filler ungulate
Would love them.
Ground fowl is severly underrepresented.
Personally id prefer something like the king quail so we have something that can run around on the ground in tropical houses, but i wouldnt be oppossed to the california in the slightest
If we get a third bird (I think this is extremely unlikely, mind you) I'd prefer either a New World duck or a screamer.
Surely the jaguar thats tripple the size of the ocelot with brighter colors, a chunky head and a body sculped like a greek athlete is undistigushable from the smol kitty cat just a bit larger then a house cat with washed out colors?
They dont even fill the same niche while building habitats, people can hate on the ocelot as another cat all they want, fine with me but if the jaguar comparison isnt the most stupid reoccuring argument on this forum then i dont know what is

Thats not even stupid, thats a difference in opinions. There are actual arguments there for why the manatee would be the perfect introduction and test subject for fully aquatics but at the same time why it makes no sense for frontier to not bother with fully aquatics, even if it generally just desolves into "wouldnt it be cool?" and "Never gonna happen"
The ocelot and jaguar thing is just plain wrong. Please can sombody explain to me how cat A and cat C are the same cat? Thank you ill wait
So, after a few days, my first opinion on this new Pack:
Coyote: Not an animal I really wanted, but I am ok with it.
Rhea: one of my most wanted animals. It was in my top 10 for years now, finally its in, really nice, 10/10
Bighornsheep: I know, I my name ist caprine master but I guess by now, we are good for now with the caprines. Tbh, the bighorn sheep was always an animal I thought: "Don't need it, there are other, more interessting caprines for me, like Barbary sheep." But I am happy for every caprine and I take what I can get. For me, I can't get enough goats and sheep (maybe I should build a caprine zoo)
Flamingo: I am happy for all the birds people here, but personally, I guess there would be other animals, that would be more interessting for me, but, ok, I take it.
Saki: YESSS, a South American Monkey, finally, I guess the last one was the capuchin 5 years ago, right? Crazy. But very very happy with the saki.
All in one, I am divided about this pack. On one side, it has mega animals, on the other hand there are animals, I never expected in an Americas Pack. To be honest, I really thought, if we get an Americas Pack one day, the Tapir has to be in it. Not that I want it, I think we have enough, but, yeah, I was prepared, but not for a brown Dall sheep and another dog.
I think, if the coati and Mara are also in, this Pack ist pretty good (these would be 2 of my most wanted animals too), but if the other 2 turn out to be other reskins, I don't know what to think.

Are all of you really sure it's the Saki? Apparently a Reddit post gave pretty good guesses that showed it could possibly be a vulture (unlikely) though, I just want to see what led all of you to believe that it's a Saki Monkey.
1. It looks more like Saki than it looks like Vulture
2. It doesn't make sense for us to receive one flying bird in random undedicated pack
I mean let me put it this way: would Frontier introduce a new type of bird, one with no equivalent in game. That can also potentially fly or at the very least act with arboreal pieces. And not market it at all????
Part of me does admit, that would be a very frontier way of doing things. The mute swan was one of the most popular parts of Eurasia and it wasn’t brought up at all.
But the swan had the advantage of being remotely similar to what we have: water birds. A vulture would be so out there it'd be weird not to at least tease it
I am 100% absolutely confident it is not a vulture. I don't understand how we are still entertaining flighted birds this late into the game, especially as an apparent one-off in an otherwise standard pack. I'm open to hearing alternatives to it being a saki (I do think it's a saki), but there is no possible scenario where it's a vulture.
Ok weird example but hear me out, Hershey Park (yes, the candy company) Is an amusement park you can visit in the states. They actually have a zoo inside of it I was able to visit once, called Zoo America. In Zoo America is the “Great Southwest” which actually has this display of birds that has stuck out to me for 7 years!
It is a display that contains desert tortoises, roadrunners, gambels quail, and burrowing owls. It was such a cute display of a mixed species habitat! I would LOVE to be able to make this in Planet Zoo. Here are some of my own photos from when I visited in 2018:
Bad quality photos I know, but this habitat has stuck out to me so much! It’s genuinely one of the real world examples that makes me think quails, burrowing owls, and roadrunners, can all work in Planet Zoo! They all spend their time on the ground, maybe one perch enrichment or two could help.
I know is not a vulture. But hear me out. If there is one thing i would happily accept instead of a NWM is flying bird. And imagine if said vulture is the andean condor? I would die of joy.
And let's bring giant chocolate props to the game. They'd be stellar
