Elite Dangerous | System Colonisation Beta Details & Feedback

small feedback, some station/installation types don't have suitable names and uses a general pool. No, this doesn't touch free will at naming, but I can't even name my orbital bar properly. At all.

Please, change station renaming interface to separate prefix and suffix. If possible, make selection of prefix and suffix from a list, instead of dice throwing (or make a random list with a dozen of names).
all my renaming had unlimited dice-throws (you just need to press that refresh-icon) for naming.
As I understand the limit of renaming only applies if you press that "Takeover"-Button?
On one occasion I definetly did shake the dice more than 20 times before picking the name displayed....

I want to name refinery hab as refinery, plus have a good first name (usually a name of exUSSR cosmonaut). For my first refinery I had to press the button about 50 times and was not exactly satisfied. I don't want an outpost to have name City, Refinery, etc. This multiplies guess-press about 10 times or more.

Having just watched a YouTube video on it, the issue with station in the second slot not picking up economies is a bug. So the advise on that video was to always use slot 0 to avoid disappointment for the moment, But congrats on having a working one in slot 2 (y)
A problem with that is if you build a second thing, sometimes the game re arranges the constructions for you.

Hi :)
Hello All,
I have been reading the forums here since Trailblazers started to try and grasp how it all works. Thank you all for your discussions and insight. I have a couple of questions.

1. I believe the shipyard is available on the Coriolis and greater orbitals and the HUGE surface port. Are shipyards available for any other installation, like the surface ports that need ~ 37,000 units/tons to build?

2. I started a system with a Coriolis, yeah, I know. It has one orbital slot which I believe can affect it's economy? What can I put here to produce more shi@ and gas? Just kidding. Is there anything I can put here to alter the economy? Extraction, refinery, industrial, or high-tech would be my first choices, and how much of an effect would just the one slot do?

Here's a pic.

Thank you,
Cmdr Remod
That's more or less the same for one of my claimed systems, so I'm in the same boat as you. :)

at the very moment (and with FDev´s announcement to change the aquisition rules of Eco-Influence for such Stations), I wouldn´t do anything with that system (btw got a complete sys screen you can post?).

Okay, thanks for that advice, I'm doing that anyway until there's some more info from Frontier.

Jack :)

I involuntarily missed a lot of the discussion on here for a few days. Has there been any statements as to why our systems have to follow a plan that existing systems do not? By that I mean having to stick a station in orbit of a moon with planetary installations. I may genuinely be missing something, but I see no reason I shouldn't be able to put a station around a gas giant and it not pick up on the economy for the rest of the SAME system? Also, not knowing this is how it works has caused myself, and I'm sure others, to have to scrap plans and possibly even systems. If this is going to be a "Feature", I use that in the loosest of terms, then we need a way to deconstruct stations and reclaim materials so that our progress up to this point isn't a total waste.

That brings on the next question. Has there been any update on whether or not they are going to give any useful guidance on how this all works, or are we just supposed to keep fumbling around in the dark? Testing is one thing, but you need to know what you're testing to know if it is a "Feature" or a bug.

I logged in this morning and my claim and mission was gone. I flew to the colony ship and it was still there to take my materials. But things were weird with my system being marked as invalid and me not showing as the architect, etc. I did completely log out and reboot system and go back in but I still am in the same situation.

Is it safe to keep delivering resources or will somehow this fail and I waste all my time? Since the system is invalid how can I reclaim it?!

So what is the process to solve this? Do we open a ticket or just wait or what? If a ticket, where is the best URL because I've never opened one and not sure the process....

Same thing has happened today to me, i no longer have the mission, nor do I show as architect...I did raise a ticket, it is being confirmed

It's the same problem with all my friends and people in the squadron

Sorry to mention the autopilot again however, assuming it is going to be looked at again for construction areas, could it also be looked at for the larger ground bases too?

It has been bumping into the larger towers when moving to landing pads behind me and to clarify how this is happening I tend to finish my glide directly above the tallest tower and the autopilot circles around and down to the pads however, it flies into the towers and once based the top of one of the smaller buildings. This is dependent on the angels present.

Also as some positive feedback, I have just finished my asteroid base and I am pleased with this structure (not deployed yet).

If that is the case it either needs correcting or it should not show in a system that has no land able planets - my system is only gas giant planets (and an asteroid belt).
Are you playing in a non English version? In the English version it very clearly says Military Settlement and all Settlements are surface. It's there you can see it but you can't build it without planets. I wonder if it's a bad localisation that's the issue here.

As I understand the comments about this by knowledgeable players existing systems don't have a plan or 'work' because they have been created as the game progressed and essentially function because they were written that way not due to rules.
