Server issues

Yup. Had a couple black adders and something like gray or silver something that I hadn't seen before. The quick load times after the last patch are long gone, too.
 
Have you tried verifying your files, because usually my problems begin after I have opened the launcher.
I've completely reinstalled Elite Dangerous three times, and verified twice.

Support got back to me this afternoon and inquired about my problem and I told them I can only play while using a VPN.
I linked them to the Issue Tracker, and this thread in the hopes to raise awareness to the problem. There's even a Steam thread regarding it.

Seems our lovely ISP Overlord here in Aus has taken a disliking to Frontier for whatever reason, or vice-versa, maybe Frontier's ISP is the problem!
 
I received a reply from Frontier Support yesterday and they said it’s likely a Telstra issue. “Try using a VPN”.

I really hope Frontier and Telstra fix this.

Seems the issue is fixed today, but, I'm skeptical. My friend said servers restarted earlier today, and I'm now able to play without a VPN.
 
Aus here. Always get an initial orange sidewinder upon first log in. 2nd attempt is ok. Slight freezes in CZs and some sudden drops in fps. Definitely worse these last couple of weeks than ever before (in 5 years).

Do these align with 5/15/25... minutes after the hour?

If you are having issues with your ISP the following has been found to help:
1) Unplug your Ethernet cable and connect via WiFi
2) Jump into game and see how things go
If that works you may find switching over to Ethernet cable again may now work OK
Reposting just for extra clarity. This has helped some Australian users experiencing issues.

Any word on the off-line version? (tm). ;-I
 
It takes a looooong time after the splash screen... then the "Logging in"... and the pixelated galaxy background takes 5 minutes... then "Loading game...", and blank screen for 5 minutes. And finally, I am in... connecting to server takes minutes.. and once I launched "Solo"... I get a blank screen instead of a spinning ship... nothing... music is playing..... it took 20 minutes for the spinning ship shows up.... Took 5 minutes for Scarlet Krait to show up.

I was just playing 20 hrs ago... and the machine hasn't been rebooted yet. I have tried rebooting... didn't help.

Same experience, it’s not the norm for sure. Thought it was my video card and troubleshot for a while.
 
Extremely long "Logging In" time (as in the big orange box that says logging in). When I get to the menu and try to connect to the game, I get loading and then a black screen and nothing else. I'm not waiting 20 minutes for an error message. I killed the task. Down detector has spiked for this game in the last hour. I'll go play Warframe.
 
Even elitedangerous.com's login page is going up.

First, clicking on the "Login" button takes forever spinning for it to bring up the "Username/Password" page.... note that there is no CAPTCHA icon whatsoever. Then, I put in my username/password... spin... spin...sping.... and then it says CAPTCHA code incorrect. What CAPTCHAR? Now, there is a CAPTCHA icon under username/password... put in username/password again, try the insanity mode of doing the same thing multiple times hoping for different results. Oh... differnt, this time after some spinning, it tells me "AUTHENTICATION ERROR! You could not be authenticated for the following reason: invalid authentication code received." What authentication code? I never receive any, nor was I prompted to enter any code. Plus, the CAPTCHA thing didn't show me any picture for me to identify. It's just .... broken.
 
I'm living in South Korea and i have this error too. Not only for Australia, this is an error from Frontier servers, not our internet services. Please, fix it.
