DLC 19 Speculation

Honestly Barnyard had 0 of the top metawishlist animals, and even ZooKeeper was quite low on the top animals.

I wouldn’t be surprised if the last two slots don’t contain any of the top 10, including the howler or coati.
Barnyard didn't directly touch the meta-wishlist but the broader concept of adding more domestic animals for petting zoos was heavily requested. And Zookeeper did knock out the baboon, spectacled bear, and Pallas's cat.

That is true, but if I remember right Barnyard had 0 of the top 3-5 animals? I definitely remember the baboon being in the top 10.

As I recall, not a single domestic animal made the top 60-80 at the time... making "top meta wishlist animals" literally impossible. I'd say it's a far more concerning fact that they largely ignored the list entirely for five animals with 0 votes and better, more popular alternatives.

Yes but I don’t think there are ANY domestic species anywhere near that highly requested. The main clamour was for domestic species IN GENERAL. So… the pack theme was highly requested, as opposed to any individual animals.

I think we can probably count the attention to the meta wishlist out when it comes to Barnyard. That was an outlier.

Whoopsie daisies. I meant I thought ZooKeeper had none of the top 3-5 animals.

But yes, you guys are right, Barnyard has none of the top picks.

Either way I think it’s possible we might not get the coati.

Certainly this is possible. I would only be disappointed if neither coati nor mara nor e.g. ocelot are in the pack. I would even be rather disappointed if they left out all three - and all ungulates - for a New World monkey (but that is because I am not into monkeys at all, instead loving maras and ungulates as well as feliforms).

Baboon and Bear were in the top 10 and I don't count Barnyard since petting zoos were requested from the beginning so it speaks for itself. I'm confident there will be at least 1 meta wishlist top 10 animal in the pack, either the coati or another monkey (call me crazy but I'd prefer another monkey honestly)

I also believe Spectacled Bear was high-ish, can't quite remember
Yeah like top 5 or top 10.

Weren't Pallas' Cat, markhor and the sifaka also quite high on the wishlist? I think of the top 20 or 25 as "quite high", not just the top 10 though.
Yes, at least top 30 if you consider all of them.

The zookeeper's pack was clearly meant to be the last pack with what they thought were community favorites while ignoring pretty much 70% of the top 10 animals.

But even dik dik were over top 50 i believe, so all animals were top choices... just not the top choices we were expecting for such a pack lol

To me it felt like a mix of leftovers from Arid, Eurasia and Tropical (Sifaka) because all of these animals were a perfect fit for those packs (minus the bear) and they were either pursposely left out to be saved for this DLC or this DLC was put together with what was left out those other packs because they saw the uproar after all after all of these species were missing (specially from the arid pack, and the markhor and palla's cat from the Eurasia pack in favor of saiga and sloth bear). In the end i'm glad we got all of them and i'm glad they realized that the ZK pack wasn't good enough of a send off so they kept going.

Yeah, I see it. More like Premier League or Bundesliga than Champions League...

this would also be the case with the mara, but I would love it a lot and more than the coati.

I aven't found any brockets anywhere on the wishlist though. Maybe far too few people even know what a brocket is? I did find the pudu AFAIK.

Ehhh

Brockets are not very interesting to me. I've seen them in the wild. They are cute sure, but just... dull? IDK. They would be usefull for mixed exhibit as a small to medium size ungulates but i wouldn't have much use than that for it.

I prefer something like a duiker or a muntjac that at least are more visually appealing (and to me they are more exotic)

I don't think we're getting the ocelot this time. Maybe I read things completely wrong, but I don't see Frontier putting the coyote as the dlc's flagship if there's also the ocelot in it (or any other felid tbh). Maybe American black bear or coati, though.
That being said, it wouldn't be the first time their flagship isn't the most charismatic animal in the pack, so I may be mistaken.
