The economy of my system is now completely broken

My squadron and I spent several dozen hours to set up the economy. My station produced steel and other metals for the surrounding systems. The station changed its economy type without any control. Now it is completely useless and all our work is worthless. This update brings nothing but disappointment.

Fdev quietly pushing out an entirely new mechanic to brick most of our economies is just an incredibly mean spirited thing. I know fdev generally laughs at player suffering, but to ruin hundreds of hours of work people have sunk into building up their system using the rules we had learned through intense trial and error? That's really beyond anything I'd ever imagine them doing.

Realizing there's zero ROI or benefit for players colonizing other than the sense of accomplishment of doing it nearly killed my interest in playing anymore, but fdev ruining what little we've accomplished over the last month is the nail in the coffin.

Someone I know has a high mineral world body with a refinery hub and an industry hub on it. He built it before we knew industry would just eat the refinery products with no upside. He just built a high tech settlement on the body and the economy went from 50% refinery 50% industry to 115% extraction 15% high tech. Refinery and industry economy just yeeted away to nothing.

The economy was Refinery
Well, it couldn't have just been refinery as the station default economy is Colony. So, could have been Colony Refinery. I know I'm splitting hairs but it does make a difference to the market what other economies your station has.

maybe - if enough people up-vote this one - fdev will at least take notice

Ok, interesting. You obviously seem more detailed information using that market connector thing, within the game itself all you can see is the economy types.

According to the picture of the system map you attached there's 5 buildings on that planet, are the other 4 refinery hubs?

One mining settlement, three refinery hubs and one colonial outpost port.

So I'm wondering where the Agricultural and Industrial economies came from? Were they from the mining settlement? If you look at the mining settlement itself does it have the 3 economies? (Extraction, Agriculture, and Industrial)

I can't say. I deleted the game and don't want to download it for a while. My nerves are not endless.

The Coriolis was orbiting a landable icy body with a thin neon atmosphere - so strong industrial and agricultural influence.

Ok, all good. Just trying to understand what happened.
As of Wednesday, planets and moons now introduce their own (extremely strong) economic influence.

Frontier are silent so far on whether this is an intended feature, a buggy consequence of an intended feature, or just a plain bug.

(They did warn that they were considering - in response to player demand, of course - breaking everyone's economic setups a couple of weeks ago, but this isn't how they said they were considering breaking them, so it's not clear if it's related)

That market connector is pulling information from the journal file that the game creates, it gives a detailed breakdown of the economy every time you dock at a station.

Right, I see. Yeah, I can definitely see why some people would be upset by that change.

I'm itching to ask questions like, how do we know what influence the planet will have, but I'm guessing that hasn't been worked out yet.

Can you share a link to this EDMC plugin? Tried searching for it but can't find it. I was planning on making something like this after the weekend but looks like someone already did the work.
