My theory is that she is the reason for them. She discovered that Gutamaya's upholstry was hand-sewn by slaves and used her clout to shut the operation down, forcing Gutamaya to outsource the seats.
Speed isn't everything. The Clipper has the worst drift and weapon convergence out there. Price and credits are meaningless when ships can be bought with ARX. Every other large ship has a size 7 or bigger slot.
The space Ferrari in my fleet is the Mamba.
The dusty old Clipper has now joined my Cobra3, ViperIV, Dolphin and Phantom in that great big junkyard in the sky.

It gets Faulcon Delacy seats because it flies like a Faulcon Delacy ship. Gutamaya just did the exterior styling and the cockpit shell.

I wondered about the seats, too. Propably the designer didn't know that Gutamaya has got their own seats. The cockpit is a 1:1 copy of the imperial courier:

If the Empire would do this, it could be interpreted as them legalising privateering through the naming of the ship. Then the Federation could claim that the Empire is violating the Paris Convention of 1856, which banned privateering. It would give the Federation an argument against the Empire. Therefore the ‘Imperial’ is missing.

Yeh - I've just re-spec'd my MkV so I can use it for Odyssey transport (as before - with dumbfire missiles for dealing with settlement raiders from the air) but also exobio and Guardian sites (SRVs + point defence). It basically covers everything my Phantom was for but with a smaller landing footprint and it looks awesome!!
Need to take it out for a spin now ...
The only Empire ship to be so, and not a lot of use apart from going ZOOM!
Because it would have had to be rank locked similar to the Clipper, so could not have been sold for Arx as "Early Access" to anyone who didn't have the rank to fly it.

Yes the straight lines definitely would have looked nicer.
Because it is just Gutamaya releasing the ship as a private venture not as an official Imperial ship which is why there is no rank requirement to purchase one.the imperial eagle has got no rank lock:

If I were an FDev employee, I'd see a great opportunity to release the imperial ships through an add-on paid with ARX
