More Station Evacuation Missions

Damaged station evacuations are some of my groups favorite content, but right now those seem to be gated by the thargoid war, which means they aren't coming up often and get completed very quickly.

I think each week at reset, a certain number of stations (5-20?) in the bubble should be changed to damaged state and evacuated. Galnet can spin it as mechanical malfunctions or whatever.
Basically, the following:
  • Create an exclusion list of stations that can't go damaged (like engineering bases)
  • Randomly select X number of stations (5-20?) from the remaining stations within the bubble
  • For each station
    • Spawn a rescue ship at a nearby appropriate location
    • Change station state to damaged
  • If too many stations (> 50?) would be in the damaged state, starting at the oldest damaged, change state to repairing
  • At reset, if a station was damaged and has 0 population left (all rescued), change state to repairing
  • At reset, if a station is in repairing state, change state back to normal
 
This would be a great idea, I just really want damaged stations back.

Its really sad that now station evacuation missions are completely gone with the end of the Thargoid war... Looked like a really fun gameplay loop and I never got to try it. :(
 
How about rescue / evacuation missions at those new constructions that have outposts / farms / etc spawned inside them? ;)
 
Fdev probably won't cause FOMO farming.
I belive they mentioned moving focus off their story and letting players make a story?
If so maybe they'll let players bomb stations or ways to agitate the thargoids.

I'd prefer something other than thargoids to come attacking...

How about shoddy building causing Station failures and evacuations?

Then we could have a change of pace evacuating Outposts as well.

shoddy building. terror attacks. Fed-Ali-Emp war deciding "well brewer can build stations fast now so HEY! lets get blasting!" and capitol ships sieging stations and planetary ports and you need to evacuate civilians whilst factions war eachother.
Honestly there is so many ways to re-introduce these features of evacuations and rebuilding of stations!

Just as long as they use the passengers say nothing mechanic from the early war period.
 
Should be a thing for as long as pirate states in sectors are a thing - we get restore settlement missions during the pirate incursions, why not rescue, evac and also raid/defend against pirate attacks too.
