Last time I played ED Horizon was in Oct 2021 on XBOX. I loaded it for the first time again and the message read that its no longer available on GamePass and then bang, my local copy of the game got wiped along with my saved games. Do I just out right buy the game now? If I do will my profile still be available after nearly 4 years?
Do I have to buy on XBox again or can I transfer to PS5 or PC?
Is console still worth it?
Do I stick to Horizon or go to Odysseys?

Will hate too loos everything, I did do the Beagle Point after all (for the explorers in the group).

All your stuff is stored on the FDEV servers, you have lost nothing. You should be able to migrate your account to PC, the only things you will lose are your Xbox achievements, the rest should still be ok as long as you still have your Xbox details from your old account and use the migration portal.

Hello, im just wondering if you could help me. I apologize in advance, i havent play ED since 2018 (many thousands of hours on the Xbox) and im interested in getting back into it after seeing some of the new activity occurring on the PC. I would like to migrate from Xbox to PC, is there a step by step instruction anywhere i could be linked to for this migration? I really would like to keep my xbox profile, i have quite a kitted out Python after i spent months visiting every engineer in the galaxy! Lol, sincerely, any help on this would be much appreciated, im not really a computer guy which is why i started playing on the console a decade ago, i now realize that may have been a mistake since its not supported anymore! Im an original 1984 Elite Commodore 64 player which gives you an idea both as to my current age and modern computer skills! Ha! I really love this game, and would love to get back into again after yet another decades long hiatus (I also played Frontiers: Elite 2) any help gratefully accepted!

Yes, you are completely correct. I was thrown by a comment in there that the portal was closed, and since it was a 2 year old post didn't bother with it. But long story short, it worked and my Xbox controller even works on the PC so all is good. The only weird thing is that the text on my side window displays are really fuzzy, I can't read them. I'll have to rely on memory, or do you know why that would be? The other text and display seems fine.

Turn off FSR and see what happens as above, some of the text displayed suffers worse than others when using FSR, I think it's to do with the way it is drawn to the screen, if you have a decently powerful PC you don't need FSR running anyway. If you do need it running to get decent FPS, setting it to quality rather than performance will still give you some boost in FPS but will make the text easier to read.
