o7 commanders. have you seen biotech conductors lately? when they changed mission rewards they were plenty in ax missions. since those went away i havent seen a single one biotech from a mission. and i do a good variety of them...
i just spent few hours replenishing my g5 mats, spent a few extra to crosstrade to refill biotechs, engineered some weapons, created a blueprint for my new cobra mk5 engineering and i need to trade for them again... ><''
if you have seen biotech conductors as a mission reward, please let me know what mission it was.
if you, like me, havent seen them anywhere, please let me know as well and ill create a ticket for it.

Not seen them on missions recently but then I've mostly been mining. I have got some in PP2 Care Packs, I reckon (hard to be totally sure, since the journals still don't get updated with care pack redemptions).

I often see them in war massacre missions, i.e. the "kill 64 ships of faction X" ones you see when there are factions at war in a system.

For 20, you need to kill 80 or more ships, iirc. I haven't done a CZ in a couple of months.

Missions used to be a reliable source of (small quantities of) BC, EFC and MEF, but now you are less likely to find what you are looking for, probably because they are diluted by a much wider range of G5 mission rewards, to the point where it's just much more efficient to farm a HGE and trade for the material you're after.

Unless an Cmdr got too much free time of thier hands, its far from efficent to get G5 mats, "the unobtainly trio" BC's MEF's and EFC's are usually only awared to those lengthy missions, while it used to be rewarded for assasination missions, wich happen to be best source to get those, before last change.
Yup, that change made combat missions the truly pita to get certain G5 mats.


Like others already mentioned, better is to fill up to the max, those ultra common G5 mats from high emmisions, then trade it down.

Wing assassinations (not massacres) used to be the quickest way to get those mats.

Otherwise known as : Imperial shielding or Core dynamics composite. Its like cheating, given how quick and easy, anyone can max out these.

Lets be real, almost every G5 material since that "change", wich is obtainable in High grade emission, from semi-rare, became ultra common.. in terms how rare it is, and how quickly can be maxed out - while ironically, few other G5 mats, became "rarer" due of less frequently being spawned as rewards... and missions (combat) that offers them, often are lenghty to complete.

Especially MEF's are pain to get, by doing combat stuff. Its data, so its cant be as easly traded down like manufactured ones, neither exists ways to obtain any G5 data in significant amounts in relative short amount of time.

think yourself lucky at least they are gettable with a mat trader.

after doing multiple ground missions i finally managed to find my 2nd financial projection data packet (I need 15) and i got killed on my way back to my ship and lost it AGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
after raging out i decided a change of pace is needed so i am gonna fly back to sol and get a couple of titan drives instead and upgrade a couple of FSDs.

Good luck with the TDCs, they seem rare as goid teeth right now. Never had a problem with financial projections. Then again never had much trouble upgrading all my foot gear.

I went 90 mins with zero TDCs and was just grabbing the rest of the materials which I do not really need.

the just as I was gonna give up 2 of them spawned in within 5 mins of each other.

my FGS and cobra V now join my family of double engineered SCO ships. Off to Jameson Memorial next session to stock up on datamined wake exceptions... The fun never stops (in truth i do enjoy it in small doses)

As i was logging off there was a mission with 10 financial projections which i really wanted to take. but it was a covert mission in an area i am allied with so i could not bring myself to do it (i am rubbish at covert missions as well so would likely fail it anyway)

BTW for OP i havent noticed biotech conductors lately but i likely have them on ignore as my bags are full of them. i have seen imperial shielding however as mission rewards which you can trade down for them at a materials trader. you can also get them at high grade signal sources in imperial systems

It's much more convenient to load up on Core Dynamics and Imperial Shields a couple of times and trade them in than to hunt for missions. At least for me, it's more worth it.

im not a big fan of the mindnumbing, repetitive, uneventful grind. id much rather play the game than let the game play me...
its nice that thats available when needed, but if i can avoid it, i will.

Ah so it's not just me. I recently decided that I apparently hated myself so I started the "space legs" Engineering grind. Ummm yeah, why can't FDEV get this right? There's a million different mats we need and NO reliable way to get them.

there are missions that reward like 15 of them. they arent at every station every time you visit, but ive found looking around for a bit across multiple stations with multiple economies to be the best way to source different ody mats. with the mats that were boosted efficient effort is rewarded.
