I wonder how many would pay for an Odyssey VR upgrade

I went out of my way to get the 3 suits. 5 versions in fact. All fully engineered Inc 4 weps. Then l put it all down. Haven't touched it since. Cos for me it's about flying ships in VR.
It's that simple.
So a new game engine yes defo. It's long overdue.
More exploration content yes defo.
More ships especially a massive cargo wessel yes ( typo intended).
More on foot? Mmmm not for me personally. But if it puts money in fdevs pocket yes.
Cos that's what's needed.

Where do we start... Howabout stare at any rising smoke and tip your head left and right. If it doesn't rotate with your vision, you're lying ;)
To be fair that isn’t a current issue report - it was last dismissed* as Invalid six years ago.

I’d be more interested in seeing if they are not getting momentary view glitches when jumping or a different brightness level in each eye when next to bright light sources.

*this annoys me somewhat - the sprite particle rotation system is used in other VR games I play but isn’t anywhere near as noticeable in them as it is linked to the vehicle motion, not the player head.

I'd pay for for them to just add basic vr controls at this point. Using the HMD as a mouse pointer replacement by default is archaic garbage and a pain to turn off.

I stopped playing E:D for years due to Frontier dropping VR in Odyssey. Elite was the only reason I got a headset. When they dropped it and then Hello Games added it to NMS as an afterthought I pretty much lost all faith in FDev. Got sick of the "its too hard" attitude of various developers round about Odyssey's release.

Playing in VR now and getting pulled out of the immersion constantly is just a real game enjoyment downer. I'm back in the game only due to my friends now playing it.

I am particularly annoyed with the different brightness on each eye bug, does anyone know of a way of mitigating It? maybe some settings tweaking? Some lighting mod?

I've never noticed this. Could it be an artefact of your headset? Many headsets have subtle quirks with either their panels or lenses but this particular problem I've not heard of.

It is a known bug. You are lucky if you havent noticed It, for me, depending on the cockpit and the situation ( near a bright star for example), can be headache inducing. You can check it out here.
Oh that looks horrible. Ok, I'm not going to try and reproduce it, I suspect I'll be happiest in my ignorance rather than tuning my vision into the problem. Thanks for the warning.

That's not a bug. The smoke is 2d sprite, not a 3d object, hence the effect.

I ponied up for the kickstarter because space ships. VR for FPS?? sure, my money is available. More so if it also includes carrier related foot activity.
