BGS reset?

I was gardening for the first time and something strange happened today. The factions and influences of the newly colonised system were reset to their initial values, or so it seems.
Did that happen anywhere else?

When the new feature came out, I totally didn't look at the faction names and claimed a new system for the Angels of Death (I didn't mean to intrude on player-minded turf but so it happened).
I worked with the Wolf 127 Crimson Posse to take control of the system and the two starports. All was well.

Yesterday, the Crimson Posse had ~70% influence, the Angels, who still hold the two installations, at ~30%, Wolf 127 Focus had already retreated from the system and the Wolf 127 Resistance was skulking along at 1%.

Today, the Angels are back at ~60%, Wolf 127 Focus jumped back into the system and the Crimson Posse dropped to their early 7% influence, while still controlling the system and starports. They are going to civil war with the Wolf 127 Focus for the system, at ~12% influence.

If it weren't for influences matching the initial setup (60%, 20%, 13%, 7%), I could have assumed BGS player action but it doesn't look like it.
What's going on here?

Haven't checked today but I know after the last patch the Brewer faction reappeared in my system. I did missions for them as I kinda wanted an extra NPC faction, but then they disappeared at the next tick.

Strange things happening.

They're doing the security around orbital construction sites now, was in the patch notes. Probably as a result of anarchy faction pirates causing said sites to become needlessly angry at the pirate demanding cargo.

Presumably they also disappear again if no further (active/unfinished) construction sites are found in the system, and they are by default at 0% inf it seems like.

I've come back from a long trip in the black and upon checking my PMF status on Inara I noticed it had spread to a dozen new systems and Brewer are active in and around them. I checked influence two days ago and they were newly expanded into one system but when I checked today they've gone and my faction who were at 11% in another system have been replaced by a totally different faction with only four factions in the system! I thought it was me getting old and having checked the wrong systems but now I've seen this thread...

Together with my account not showing my purchase of the Corsair from this morning and loads of people not being able to play via the launcher right now... something's gone awry!

I should've stayed in the black!

I think Wednesdays maintenance just proliferated the BGS. I took A screenshot but it's to large for the forum and i don't wanna figure out how. I'm at Coelho Hub in Xinca and the first two factions have a total of 94% influence. 58 and 36%. The next faction has 2%, then the following five have 1%, for a total 0f 101%. It says there is a total of 75 space missions available. 31 Combat, 75 Transportation, 12 Freelance, 0/Zero Operations, and 18 Support, for a total of 136. Not much Variety of type or material rewards for both ground and space. No faction states as well.

Has this happened before? I'm still gonna have some fun tonight and I imagine its everywhere... it's like everyone just got let out for recess and it's a race to the snow pile to see who's gonna be king of the mountain.

It could be a rounding error due to lack of digits of precision in the given numbers in your post.

But I note that you give 8 numbers, that's 8 factions in your system? Did a faction just recently expand into your system?

Where are you getting these numbers?

yes happened to 2 of my systems - I created a post with Inara data

This is post referenced above: https://forums.frontier.co.uk/threa...nal-colonizer-faction-after-last-tick.637248/

This is definitely an issue right now. Two of my four systems have been affected. I suspect that any colonized system that was >75% inf on Thursday was applied the default Influence layout we get when the first station is finished.

My system had been fine for 2 months, my faction was 85.5% influence on Wednesday. When the servers restarted on Thursday, these two systems reset the influence layout. We're now at 13% influence but somehow still control the system.

In the post link above you can see how it also triggers conflicts - a war in this case - so it's not just a "display" problem. I don't know how FDev plans to fix this, if at all, but they have their BGS work cut out for them.

No, I had just returned to that area the night before, all the factions were normal as of that night. No new factions had entered the port I was at. Before the night was done the faction that had 2% had dropped to 1% so the total was back to 100% And 75 missions listed when there was actually like 130 something. I did take a screen shot but it was too large for the forum. It was still fun, just not a good variety of missions, but decent. I got the numbers from faction list in the missions tab.

I haven't been in game yet today, I'm curious how the factions at Coelho hub looks now.
