Lucky for me I've been getting tawnys around me :) prettiest too-whit too-whoo owl sound

A couple nights ago I walked over 3 miles in the woods for around 2 hours to see an owl, I did all of the following:
  1. Used an app to play owl calls so they may respond back
  2. Brought a flashlight in case it’s too dark and I may quickly see the light reflecting off the eyes
  3. Went to an area they are reported to be in.
Didn’t see a darn thing.

Depends on the area I guess.

I don't see owls regularly, but specifically in the section of the city I'm residing in currently, there's plenty of them and great variety.

Today I got 101 bird species on the Cornell Bird App. Species 101 is one of my favorite birds/ animal species in the world. It’s the Barred Owl! And tonight I had the privilege of seeing a mated pair fly and sing together! Unfortunately I couldn’t get a recording (Snapchat apparently only records sound with the volume on) but I did get a super cool photo:

Yes that is the moon behind it!

Could actually really use the luck, because so far i didnt really managed to get the eggs to actually hatch. Got severaly clutches from my pair so far, but the eggs always go bad during the incubation process. Its really heartbreaking
