I want to share my grief

The stars aligned so that I flew on a long and distant journey, having flown 30 thousand light years, I accumulated a huge amount of research data and discoveries in the codex. But today something happened, for which I am now taking medicine and lying under an IV drip. I found a very beautiful system where there is a neutron star, a water planet, the earth, and beautiful satellites on which I successfully landed. Having made many screenshots, I stood on the stairs of my ship Mandalay and solemnly said goodbye to the beautiful planet, waving my hand at it. At that very second, the stairs retracted, the hatch slammed shut, crushing me to death. I lost all my research and discoveries, and thanks to someone's joke from the developers? I did not find a SINGLE mention on the Internet that with such a gesture my ship would fly away! Who came up with this idea? I want to scream! But I have no strength, I am simply depressed by such a black joke!

:ROFLMAO: sorry, but this is hilarious.

There are a couple of emojis that have actual game effect that I know of.

Clap - turns lights on/off
Wave - dismisses ship

Personally I think they are cool features but you do seem to have become the star of a Monty Python sketch here.
I have a faint memory that there might be two more - thumbs down will disable team boarding, thumbs up will enable it again. Remote locking is a thing.

You should send a petition for recovery.

This. Open a ticket with support and explain the situation.
As a one-off they should return your ship in these circumstances.
….and do so using the narrative, and the humour, you gave in this thread. Not only should you get your ship back, you may persuade them to include all that data. Maybe, maybe not…but it’s worth a try and I’ve always found good humour, role play and/or a funny story is always appreciated by the support team.

I often wonder if they’re kept in a windowless basement at FDev Towers, so any light you can provide will be appreciated.

So are there any more boobytraps emojis I need to delete from my bindings or is it just those four?

My sympathies OP and I hope support respond well when you send in a ticket with the text of your post in it.

Thank you guys for your positivity and humor! You are great guys for supporting me! Unfortunately, due to the current circumstances in the country, the support service is not available to me because we have sanctions, I live in Russia and there are no options to connect to the service, this site simply does not work for me, I go here under fear and risk through a VPN, which is also illegal. Therefore, if the support service saw this message here and helped me get my data back, I would be grateful, because I have only been playing for 40 days and for me, cash savings and research are very necessary to start the game. I understand that the situation is funny, but who would have thought that the game has such Easter eggs that I apparently came across the very first? What other tricks are there?

With love and respect to you, CMDR YourMommy, I didn't come up with the nickname! So don't scold me, it was the kids who came up with it, I would gladly change it because it's absurd

If you climb the Mandalay stairs and salute the ZP emblem, a giant fist with 'no interiors' on the knuckles punches you in the face, you roll down the stairs and die. Seriously though, what a bizzare situation you discovered.

I lost all my research and discoveries,
Did you?

Exploration data is stored on vehicles Ships/SRV and not Commander. Codex data is stored instantly.

You will have more than likely lost all Organics data, and probably codex vouchers (though you didn't look at your transactions panel so I don't know for certain). You can tell you haven't lost your exploration data because the system bodies all had names when you looked in the FSS.

A few months after Odyssey released I was driving around on a planet's surface, I'd been on a 3 month trip collecting Organics and general exploration data. Due to a random bug my SRV exploded, no reason, nothing in the journal. I was put back in my ship and I had lost all exploration data, all Codex vouchers, and was worried about my Organics data. I contacted support who confirmed they could see no reason, and so they would give me the equivalent credit balance for the value of the exploration data lost. I said I didn't care about the credits, but the actual systems, but they couldn't put me back on them. They said Organics data shouldn't have been lost, but when they checked it was. So they were going to investigate that, they put a new SRV in my ship too.

I was pretty gutted, but decided to start all again retracing my steps to put correct data on already "visited" systems. I'd avoided the SRV for a while, but after a couple of weeks I needed to gather some materials so I deployed the one Support had given me back... No fuel... Instant explosion... Lost everything again...

I contact support again to check the Organics data, but it had been lost again despite them thinking they'd found the cause. The patch notes a few months later mentioned something about Organics data on death, but I've not tested it again. So you might be lucky.

Thank you sir! Fortunately, I believe that the ship's research data on planetary discoveries and the codex are in place, but all the exobiology is lost, since for some funny reason it is stored, apparently, in my head? I thought that all the data is stored in the ship's logbook! And this would be a smart decision, because the pilot can die or the SRP explodes! And because of this, the question may arise, why store data in the suit? The developers need to fix this first of all! Otherwise, people are simply afraid to waste time on research that will disappear for some reason in the blink of an eye! This is completely unnecessary! I hope that the developers will pay attention to this and release news somewhere that never wave your hand at the ship, otherwise it will wave its wing at you and break your spine!

Сейчас вокруг много авианосцев, некоторые из них находятся в Бигле, поэтому имеет смысл часто продавать любые данные.

Thank you! I do research not for sale but for my country, to advance in rank! I have already earned rank 53 in 40 days this way!
