Powerplay 2.0 Activities

Does that mean when undermining a system that the particular (enemy) power loses ground faster by using the listed activities?

Basically: yes.

Some activities get a bonus, for merits you earn and for control points affecting the target system, because they are in line with the preferred activities of your Power - these are the "Ethos activities" noted.

Additionally there are some undermining activities that get a similar bonus because they are ones that the Power you are undermining is weak to. These activities are the ones listed in the Vulnerabilities section.

Ethos and Vulnerability activities are listed together as 'local activities' in the galaxy map Powerplay info panel for a system, the difference being that getting the Vulnerabilities bonus depends on which power you're attacking, rather than on which Power you're pledged to.

Thank you

After looking through the preferred / Ethos activities in game for the powers while updating this after the recent patch, I noticed some changes which could either be inaccuracies in the initial post or game changes not mentioned in the patch notes.

I marked these in the OP with a symbol, but I'll spell them out here rather than clutter the already cluttered post..

Aisling Duval:
  • Holo hacking in US is now not an Ethos activity, but had been marked as one here previously.
  • The patch notes said "reboot mission completion" replaces escape pods Ethos activity in AS. But "aid and humanitarian missions" was already listed here as a preferred AS activity and the game doesn't list anything else that wasn't already listed here.
Archon Delaine:
  • Power kills was listed here as an Ethos activity in US, but now doesn't appear as such in game.
Edmund Mahon:
  • Hand in bio data appears as an RS Ethos activity in game, but was not previously listed here
  • Hand in Power Research & Industrial data appears as a US Ethos activity in game but was not previously listed here
Yuri Grom:
  • Commit crimes in US was listed here as an Ethos activity but does not now appear in game
  • Upload malware in US was listed here as an Ethos activity but does not now appear in game
Jerome Archer:
  • Commit crimes in US was listed here as an Ethos activity but does not now appear in game
Li Yong-Rui
  • Flood markets with low value goods in US was listed here as an Ethos activity but does not now appear in game

As mentioned, it's very possible that at least some of these were mistakes on my part, for which: apologies. Now impossible to check since we can't visit previous versions of the game. However, I think it's worth spelling them out in case any are intended but undocumented changes to the game (or indeed, "unintended changes" to the game :) )

With this, I think my post-patch update is done, so any info on further inaccuracies would be particularly welcome!

Thanks for keeping this updated, you're doing all of us a huge favor.

I CAAAAAN'T.

WHY ARE WE SHOUTING?!

I feel your pain, but I don't think anyone should be reading here for general PP kvetching... Plenty of other places for that :)
And now... seems like POWERPLAY NPC SHIPS don't leave materials once destroyed???

New bug???

Hello PP 2.0 Vets. After a long few weeks of colonisation I've come back to PP 2.0 for which I was a complete beginner and I'm attempting to tackle the weekly assignments again. One being the following.

- Destroy Rival Power Members in undermining systems.

The description states ships or personnel. I went to a close by enemy power where bounty hunting, commit crimes etc were listed as activities and landed at a settlement and took out some guards. I received some merits and bounties & notoriety of course (there was a modifier percentage I've never seen before, what's that about?). I noticed the kills did not register. Any suggestions? Also how can you identify if an on-foot npc is from a rival power or not?

You're looking for Power Agents, not the regular denizens: https://forums.frontier.co.uk/threa...-strange-change-not-good.636570/post-10608290

Hi, that link doesn't seem to work.

What the link is supposed to go to...

Yes, it's super annoying. What you can do is get a bit closer until the passive scan shows up their name. If that panel is green they are annoying innocent people, if it's red you can shoot them. The innocent people also don't seem to have any idea that the settlement is in a state of power-down and that you are there to power it up. If you turn off the atmo to put out fires, as you are contracted to do, they will come by and say "SOMEBODY IS TAMPERING HERE" and turn it on again.

So what you’re referring to is when you complete a passive scan this will show either green or red? Green leave alone, red they’re associated with a Power?

Yes, a passive scan. I don't know about the Power part, this particular example was just a random innocent scav shooting at me while still being innocent somehow, they were not part of a Power team. I've seen Power guards at settlements too but I can't remember what they show up as when you scan them.

So... Do i understand that right..
I am pledged to Li Yong right.. And i'm in a reinforcing system. If i were to for example mine stuff in that system and sell it, would that count to the control score? Or only ethos activities count?
Or everything counts but ethos activities count a bit more because of the bonus?

Everything listed for reinforcement counts (though not all of it may be possible in every system), ethos activities get a 50% bonus.

So I'm trying to understand the Power Play political dynamics. It seems that within the same faction but supporting one political leader over another means being sent out to shoot down anyone that supports the opposing leader. Which might be the way things are done in more nefarious, crime ridden factions, but seems rather uncivilized and extreme for any of the major factions. I can understand helping gain political favour for the candidate of your choice through delivering needed supplies, doing search and rescue, bounty hunting pirates, essentially making the system safer and more stable for the inhabitants. Shooting down the opposing political party supporters is essentially civil war and in the case of Alliance faction it doesn't appear the faction is actually in a civil war and hostile actions rather goes the ideas of what the Alliance stands for. For that matter, one major faction shooting down members of another major faction is essentially war and theoretically an enemy to a faction shouldn't be able to dock at any station or outpost in an enemy system, which I discovered recently that is in fact what happens when you visit a Stronghold Carrier of another major faction. I understand it gives players an opportunity to do more pew-pew but unless a civil war or a major war is announced and committed to I don't much understand why the Power Play directives to shoot an opposing leader or faction.
