Latest CG rewards worth it?

So took a look and the 6A, 4A, 3A,4D, 3D , are they useful at all , most of my stuff needs class 7’s , about the only thing I could use these for is my cobra, even my two pythons use 7’s ?
Is a 6A with system and engine focused good enough to replace a 7 sized distro ? I don’t play around with the numbers much thought someone here could let me know I just fly em not tinker so much

On an unarmed ship you might get marginal use out of them by being able to fit a distro which is
- smaller (and therefore lighter) than normal
- still able to boost and regenerate shields at a reasonable rate
- free and therefore doesn't add to rebuy costs

The niche in which they're better than just a standard Engine Focused distro for that sort of build is tiny, but on the other hand if you were planning a build around an undersized Engine Focused distro it's possible that the CG will give you one in a size you can use.

Any armed ship should stay well clear of them, though.

That heavily depended on general conception, personally, at the moment I'm running just 2 ships with non-empty hardpoints: Pmk2 and Corsair (PP miner).
And on at least 3 my ships those pre-engineered PDs will be like long-awaited X-mass presents: Courier (Titan salvage), Cobra V (PP cold runner) and Mandalay (explorer).

If you do powerplay with either side it can be worth it. But, this CG is merit city if you play for Mahon because he’s gonna win and it’s an easy 40k merits once the CG is over.

Distro's like that are useless... unless running empty hardpoints, but for most of time, better just use charge enchanced.

Like already Ian mentioned, only good for very niche bulids wich benefit using undersized distro (smallest that allows alteast 1 boost), usually ENG focused, but without penalties for SYS. But SYS is not needed at all, on such niche bulids, so its very marginal... and benefit of SYS is simply questionable, as bulids like that have either no shields or paper shields. Not to mention, no experimental effects, make it further useless.

Thought so, even to me they seemed to be not very useful, one of each size in class A I might of done it but not the ones being offered.
Thank you

Wild how many on Reddit are saying they're jumping on the winner bandwagon to get two lots. I disregarded this as motivation entirely, they're just useless in all but very fringe cases. Nice for anyone who hasn't got any engineering yet, so long as they're not doing any combat. But for most, just not worth the FOMO pressure they're putting on themselves.

I'm getting them so I can replace some of the charge enhanced PD in my non-combat ships and put them to better use (combat/laser mining).

The power distributor can be undersized, and for something like an exploration ship you usually want to do exactly that. There might also be some other ship builds that might benefit from the lighter weight. Not every ship is a combat ship.

These sys & eng focused distributors ring the smell of a Panther Clipper to me
Yeah me too. PCII will need better 6A PD than engineered one because its going to be slow and will need constant boosting. My weaponless Cobra V can use the 4A. With the 4D swapping out from the 4D I had engineered for engines neatly in the Mandalay. All these ships are key non-combat ones, but do need best boosting speed and best sheilds.
