Are their Mission Alternatives to Colonization Hauling Yet, or Should I go back to my Cryo Pod?

That’s a really good idea. This game desperately needs “credit sinks” - things to spend your billions on. A rich player ought to be able to offer a contract to a poorer player to deliver materials.

Then OP could do the activities he likes to do, and players that want to haul could haul.

We’d need FDev to facilitate this though, and otherwise there’s no way to prove that a particular player delivered anything, and no way to pay them.

OP could park his carrier in his system and advertise on the forums an attractive price for the commodities he wants, but that’d only get him halfway. He’d still have to haul them from carrier to construction site, and he’s burned out on that.

The construction depots already pay slightly over par for materials anyway. If the player could set the rate, and make up the difference out of their own money you could probably get other people to haul scrap for you. If there was some way to advertise it.

core gameplay loop of colonization is monotonous hauling.
Everything else around it is very fun and emergent gameplay.
I personally like hauling, but as a solo player, its very slow.

So we have a situation where solo or casual players take weeks to build a T3 port.
A big group can build it in 5 minutes (less immersive then a solo commander building it over weeks)

People hate my idea, but either npc traders deliver goods slowly every day (percentage growth)
or missions that give extra reward in completion percentage.

If your system produces materials, all constructions should grow on their own slowly.

You’re exaggerating but your point stands. It’s kind of ridiculous that there isn’t a hardcoded construction timeframe. Nobody wants to hear this, but it should take a year to build a big station or port.

Fine okay, make it six months. But it shouldn’t be doable in a matter of weeks, no matter how many people help.

Isn’t the point of this game that “you don’t matter, it’s not about you”? I hear that a lot from people when I suggest that the game have more depth or narrative. So, how does that mentality translate into “we need to have ginormous fleet carriers and colonize our own systems!”

Like… what? Is this still the same game? You’re still just ONE GUY, no matter how big the lifeless piece of flotsam you float around in.

I’m not sure why this is now suddenly an issue when we previously had CGs which saw large orbitals built within a week as well?

If you’ve got to wait 6 months to a year to wait for those big ports to appear, what’s more likely to happen is just nobody’s going to build them - or likely almost nobody - because we are still playing a game.

Yeah....

Lots of folk make suggestions to "IMPROVE" the game, to suit their own narrative, but masking it with garbage similar to "Everyone would like...", and, unsurprisingly, such suggestions get criticism by those who have the acuity to interpret the words spewed accurately.

You’re still just ONE GUY, no matter how big the lifeless piece of flotsam you float around in.
I couldn't agree more, it should take hundreds of years in real time to achieve even visiting the closest system to ours, every ship should have a crew of hundreds of actual players, and many, many, years need to be put into passing the begging bowl around the exceedingly rich investors to raise the finance for even the lowliest of ventures...

Me? I'm just glad it is a game, mostly arcade, that some fun can be had in...

Really? You can’t think of anything that might have changed to make this an issue now where it wasn’t before? Seriously?

How many coriolis ports were in existence one year ago? How many exist today?

You really haven’t noticed the absence of places that feel remote and rural?

This is dead-end. Such poor players will be rich in couple weeks. And whom they will buy ?

The mission based option is to run missions and then pay people that enjoy hauling to do the building. Unfortunately that's currently going to set you back around 100k /t. You'll need to find the discord for the various haulers if you go that route. Unfortunately so far it doesn't look like they're going to directly expand the options in game.

Alternatively, I'd do conflict zone kills, or bounty hunting, or any murder work (space or surface) for 600 ton loads. Maybe someone out there needs BGS influencing that only a killer can offer.

Wishlist:

1. Player Instance - like Private Group, but one which you can build your own settlements, outposts, ... Being able to arrange the objects on a more granular level for a much more customizable look - indoors and outdoors. The objects would only exist within your Player Instance. Of course, other commanders can join your instance. To help with the added bandwidth, the objects in the player instance could be handled like torrents involving everyone in the instance. Finally, the ability to have one player instance (think squadron) join with another player instance for an enhanced squadron to squadron game play.

2. Mission Generator - within the Player Instances, missions could be generated or built that would only affect the Player Instance and not the BGS. These missions could be tailored by the mission provider. Given a loose framework, creative people will come up with great missions. Expanding from the Mission Generator into a Campaign Generator would foster team play and provide entertainment much greater than haul sht from A to B. Let the Galaxy Masters (Dungeon Masters) create new and exiting scenarios.

These points, or at least similar points, have been made by countless people in the forums. Let the players create the gameplay!

This is not gameplay, this is Yet Another Builder :D Space TESO ? :/
Waste of time. 99% of the "personal dimensions" contain crafting stations only in TESO, Rift, SWTOR etc. There are 500 players per game about who actually does some building, others at most place things there (like me) to keep, and majority install plugin to automatically destroy "decorations" when looted.
