HITCHING A LIFT

Hi all. Hope it is OK for me to post this request here but please point me to the correct location if not.

I'm trying to get to Colonia where I intend buying a carrier and exploring more. I've been based in a carrier for a while but I think it may be abandoned now. I've tried contacting the owner off game hoping to find out what is happening but without response. I'm in the Inner Orion Spur and looking to hitch a lift. Hope someone can please help.

There are regular carrier runs to Colonia, there's a discord for traveling on FC's, search the forums a bit, you are sure to find it.

Not exactly a direct answer to your post but this used to be fun - not sure if colonisation has messed those cornflakes.

Failing that, the FCOC is likely your best bet.

Oh and don't forget to stock up on those G5 life support units - the most important unique thing Colonia offers

The FCOC (already mentioned) is probably the best place to go. They have a presence on reddit, where trips are announced (https://www.reddit.com/r/FCOC/, remember to check the FAQ). There are generally two types: the rapid transit trip which is as fast as it can be, and the scenic route trip which takes it time and stops several times, not always scheduled beforehand, for exploration activities. They also have a Discord (see FAQ) for more detailed questions, and complementary services.

Buying a carrier in Colonia can be a problem, as you need to fuel it with tritium, which is in very short supply there, and thus quite expensive.

I'm guessing that at this point in your game experience going to Colonia by fleet carrier might be the easiest and fastest solution. However, as a kind of long-term goal I recommend getting both the ship build and the experience to fly there directly with an exploration ship. This can actually be done in two hours of less, but it requires a bit of experience and knowing how to do it.

I myself if I want to go to Colonia I just spend the 1.5 - 2 hours flying there directly, as that's much faster than with a fleet carrier.

Stable door & bolted horse here I suspect but I will be heading over to Colonia with Fragrant Bottom in the next day or so (bit of business to complete in the bubble prior to departure).
Anticipated travel time will be 3 days from departure and I'm specifically heading to LOS to get some of that G5 life support engineering so lacking in the bubble.

If you're interested tip me the wink and I'll ensure Fragrant Bottom is equipped for your travelling convenience ;)
