That’s unrealistic. They extended the game, which likely means Planet Zoo 2 has been delayed even further. Considering the flop of Planet Coaster 2, they probably can’t risk another failure so we’re likely talking about years until PZ2. Also, how exactly does this list help? A percentage of players won’t even play PZ2, so should their votes still count? Many animals currently in the game don’t show up on these lists anymore. For example, my top pick would be the snow leopard I want it more than any other. Plus, a lot of people don’t vote for aquatic or bird species because they know those won’t make it into the game, so the data isn’t even reliable also frontier definitely has other ways to gather feedback.If we want then, we should be making a list specifically for PZ2 instead.

In the last 24 hours, PC2 peaked at 2,600 players, while Planet Zoo peaked at around 6,100 players during the same period
I disagree. We can always just add votes for when the sequel comes out it’s not that deep
I vote for animal X because i know animal Y which i would perfer has no hope since its aquatic, how is the data any reliable then? just make a list for pz2 if thats the only argument
Because all of us who voted for aquatic would lose their votes. Just add votes when pz2 arrives unilaterally. Best of both worlds

No this data is not useful to a sequel because it does not consider the current existing roster of planet zoo 1 and for the majority of its existence has not included major groups because they were unrealistic now. changing the rules at this point will do nothing but poison the data set
A list for predicating the wants for a sequel has to be made with that explicit purpose and is already in the works but this list should not be used for that.

Oh so that's ok then maybe. Maybe theme parks are less popular than zoos. How do you even get that data?
planet coaster 1 at this time (june of 2017) had around 6000 players
I used steam db went to the last sunday in may 2017 which is almost exactly the same point as we are now given they released at similar times and looked at the peak.
the question was asked in may and given how different the 2 months are in terms of numbers june isnt the best analogue possible here.
In may 2017 PC1 was around 4000 players even right now in this moment there are 713 players in PC1 and 942 in PC2
Planet Zoo has the widest audience range it attracts many players who are interested solely in the animals (like me), but also appeals to those who enjoy the management and creativity aspects of the game. Naturally, this makes it more popular. However, the issue is that, even when compared to an older game like Planet Coaster 1, Planet Coaster 2 currently has about the same number of players. Considering all the resources and money Frontier spent on developing PC2, this is questionable from a pure profit perspective. A new DLC for PC1 might have been more profitable, as the development cost would have been much lower and the player base is still nearly the same. In fact, if PC1 received a DLC or an update now, it would probably surpass PC2 in player count.

My dears, after some discussion I think that fish should be removed from the list. Random_goat added a few species but did not allow flying birds. As for aquatic mammals, they will remain on the list. Why? First of all, this group of animals already exists in the game, they breathe air, to some extent they have to appear on land. I know that there are no mechanics for them but they have been on the list for too long. As for fish, they are low on the list and there are not many of them included. Secondly, there is not a single species of fish in the game. Theoretically, the exhibit box could be an aquarium, but there is none. This list was created with Planet Zoo 1 and future DLCs in mind. It is not a speculation for Planet Zoo 2. Its purpose was to indicate specific species of animals that have a real chance, that the community wants to appear in the game.
