Game Discussions Star Citizen Discussion Thread v12

A Finn here, Finnish is not indoeuropean language so apart from loan words it IS completely different. A very different grammar, a lot of weird words and so on.

Watched a video today - its a series where they have students from different countries comparing their languages... English Friends or something? Anyway, the one i watched had students from the Uraligic(?) branch - Estonian, Finnish, and Hungarian, and they found some things they could understand while others were at a complete loss.

Well I can understand some spoken Estonian, probably something like English speaker can understand Dutch.

In that TV series, Deadwind that I watched, in one episode the main characters helicoptered over to Tallinn to meet with a local policeman there...in the conversation about the case they were investigating, they had to switch to English as the Finnish cops spoke very little Estonian and the Estonian cops had no Finnish at all...it was the only part of that TV series I didn't need the subtitles :D

Cracking TV show though, I really enjoyed it. Hoping for a few more seasons of it...that and The Swedish crime drama series, The Åre Murders, on Netflix. All in all, the Nordic films and TV series that I've watched have been far more entertaining than any of the tat coming out of the UK or the US so I'm glad Netflix has a good selection. My favourite series so far has been 'Ragnarok' from Norway...an absolute belter :)

Oh yes you nailed it. I just send these screenshots to CIG and they give me ingame credits, that's how I made my 5+ million credits :ROFLMAO: Hopefully these garner enough interest to get a couple more millions...
Pretending to be hauling goods from city to station...

Pretending to clean some bunkers...

Pretending to bounty hunt some players along the way...

And dwelling deep into caves to hunt alien fauna for their pretend horns...

And then being greeted by the nicest views returning to surface...(if you know you know).

You can call it the money shot.

Hope these please Roberts cause I just splashed 3.5M in this bad boy:

Argo Raft aka Gertrudes (Betsy's Aunt). Old Gerty for the crew, when I find them.

Ah, and I got rid of the moustache. As in, Dany got caught with illegal goods and is currently serving some time.

Tanya, his sister, is now trying to make enough creds to bail him out. Wish her luck! :)
I deleted your pictures from the quote because they're enormous and get in the way, but that aside, what do you think you accomplish with this? When I left fundamentalist Christianity, the people who used to claim to care would mock me for it, because they were so defensive they couldn't imagine me being anything other than an adversary for simply talking about what I saw when I was one of them.

You post your pictures like I didn't pour a lot of money into Star Citizen myself, played hundreds of hours myself, like if you post this people will suddenly believe that I'm making it up rather than someone who experienced it also.

Star Citizen is a wonderful screenshot simulator.
Have fun in your empty, buggy collapsing universe, friend.

Prepare for more screenshots. Alpha 4.2 is all about exploration, where a band of heroes venture out on public transport into the cinematic rain on airless planets to execute a bunch of (evil) scientists, steal their glowing egg to finally murder a worm to, uhh, bring teeth to the holo-alien and stop the regen crisis, I guess?

And then the scene resets for the next group of heroes. Good thing those eggs are not limited stock.

It's not a mission! It's not an event!

Look, there's a lot of ways to deride CIG. Some say scam. Some say mismanagement. Some say marketing. Some say wrong priorities. Some simply say greed.
I think a simple term explains loads of the bumbling decisions CIG makes and may cut deeper then any accusation of idiocy...
Simply accuse:
"CIG doesn't play video games."
That explains everything.
"Oh we wouldn't have known this without player feedback" is a lie.
There are things you can know "on paper" if you have some understanding of how "people" work in a multiplayer game. We have experts out there. We have games out there that have already ran into these problems and solved them.
This isn't "uncharted territory" like they'll claim it is. This territory is very much charted and you'd know that if...you played video games.
CIG didn't invent "Respawn" and CIG isn't the first to deal with "Spawn Camping".
People have seen this and find solutions to it WELL before CIG.
#CIGDoesn'tPlayVideoGames

On point.

LOL, and Spectrum is getting in on the bashing. Not even going to posts the threads, its all a common theme. PvP and shooty shooty is not exploration.

Lol, this description is arguably worst than Oddy’s “Armstrong moment”

Oddly, in an interview for the Times newspaper (I think) Neil Armstrong described the first footprint on the moon as the defining moment, not stepping down from the ladder.
FD got it right, and, as is normal, the players berated it... (I was a teenager then, and full of interest for the moon program)

Stormbreaker has absoloutely nothing to do with exploration.
Well. Someone's got to find the 4(?) locations first and log them on Verseguide with their loot pools and directions from the nearest quantum marker. Is that not exploration? :)
There is a recurring dream that "exploration" would include the ability to sell waypoint coordinates to other players in game or something vague like that.

Fly as close as possible to marker Hela's Regret
Point compass heading to 312.2°
Travel at 2.00 km altitude for 31:59 minutes at 250 m/s
You will not be traveling in a straight line! Keep steering to maintain a consistent heading
Stop when distance to Hela's Regret is 474.62 km at 2.00 km altitude
Your destination should be right below you Fly down to the surface
Your destination should be right below you Hela's Regret should be 474.44 km away at heading 135.4°
