Remember how CIG nerfed torps to stop the cap-killer Polaris killing the new $$$ capital ship?

The torps are based on ship distance, not torp-travel-distance. So if you fire it and move forward, it won't activate. If you fire it from close and move backwards it will activate.

Kludgy quick-fixes make the game go around...

it made me wonder if [CIG] actually knows what certain words mean in game design or if they are intentionally mislabeling them because they are uneasy about giving them an accurate description

Oh Ray. You mean like the words "pledge", or "alpha"? Nah, CIG would never try to mislead or gaslight its audience with intentionally obfuscating language, right?

Last night we held a big event bringing together a couple of communities. We were about 160 in a group, plus the people who were trying to hinder our mission. It all ended in a huge fight at Stanton Gateway, with more than 5 capitals and several small fighters. Surely more than 200 players in the same region. It was unplayable for more than 35 minutes. In the end, we canceled the mission because we couldn't continue. A complete success and a demonstration of great power. I hope you can work in the future so that these battles can take place in the verse. o7
