India Pack: Roster bet thread!!!

really know that. You see, those Indian elephants are in the key art of the next DLC, just like the American Bison in the Arctic Pack keyart. T
We have 19 data points, only 1 uses base game species (it's also our oldest data point, bare in mind). There are also 0 Animal Packs with base-game species on the boxart. The evidence suggests an India Animal Pack containing Sri Lankan elephants, like it or not.

I believe you, George. After all, we had dromedary camel scenery 2 years before the camel was released. To release a 3rd elephant is silly

I analyzed the data and it's down to 2 options - yes or no
The answer is NO. We do NOT have Sri Lankan elephants in our roster. We have Asiatic lions in the roster INSTEAD!

My roster
  1. Honey Badger
  2. Lion-tailed Macaque
  3. Asiatic Lion
  4. Gaur
  5. Northern Plains Gray Langur
  6. Great Indian Bustard
  7. Dalmatian Pelican
  8. Indian Cobra (Exhibit)
  9. Great Hornbill (Walkthrough Exhibit)

Neither. Its unnecessary to add another Lion subespecies (even Then, It is no longer accredited as a species). Its better another Cat from The región, from Jungle Cat, The Asían Golden Cat, and my personal favorite, The Fishing Cat. all much better options than the Asiatic lion

I prefer the English term: rubbish

George is all knowing. He knows what packs will have.next and what they don't have. Remember when everyone thought that the Ring-tailed Fuzzwart was gonna come in the Southeast Asia animal pack? Well that's because George said it wasn't, and we got the clouded leopard instead. It was quite a week

But, The ringtail Is from South América, logically it shouldn't be.

So why not upgrade West African Lion's model? And with all due respect, Is it really necessary to put a second lion, over another feline that could show greater diversity in its region? Still prefer The Fishing Cat over a second Lion (or a third Leopard)

In my opinion, there is no useable ‘big cat’ in game. the earlier models are just not good. A second lion, for me, would be our first lion

Personally, I don't care if the model is "realistic" or "old-school" because even then, they look better than the cartoonish humans. And hey, by the time the game was released, the models were fine (and if there were a hypothetical Planet Zoo 2, all the animals would get updates). And like I said, I prefer a new species to a redundant and defunct subspecies.

Personally I always said Frontier is not good with cats. Their strongest point are reptiles.
But taht said, every cat but the lion is still useable, yes. I remember back then I always defended the lion as an art choice and fine. Changed my opinion since then. Especially next to DLC animals it is just not usable anymore and I'd go as far as to say that, while some models aged terribly, the lion and the nile monitor are the only ones that became practically unuseable. (To be fair, a friend of mine had to point out to me that the Nile Monitor is a bad model, I didn't know how the animal looks irl)

See for me, a lot of the base game animals have aged out too much. They just REALLY don’t hold up to the models being released today. And that’s fine, they were made a while ago. But personally, I don’t use a lot of base game (or early DLC) models.
The only ones I can really say hand on heart I have no problem with are the African Elephant, Western Chimpanzee, Galapagos Giant Tortoise, male Common Hippo, Indian Rhinoceros and Komodo Dragon. And that’s not to say the rest are UNUSABLE, I just don’t think they hold up all that well. And that’s the way I play personally.

Which is fine, because a lot of the later DLC animals are great enough for headlining the zoos I build. The ONLY thing I’m missing is a lion OR tiger that doesn’t look like a cartoon, a new giraffe, and a new zebra. And I believe in my heart we’ll see them coming before the base game is out.

I think that’s just as valid as wanting anything else. It’s just the way I want to play this game. Just as I wouldn’t knock anyone for wanting a species that might be unique but to me is unimportant.

We all have different ways of playing and different preferences, no?

My hope:
  1. Honey Badger
  2. Lion-tailed macaque
  3. Indian Giant squirrel
  4. Blackbuck (not really an ungulate guy but I agree this one is needed)
  5. Hanuman Langur
  6. Himalayan Monal
  7. King Cobra as a habitat animal
  8. Tokay Gecko/Indian flying fox
The Coconut Crab is welcome to replace any of these
HM: Leopard Cat, Demoiselle Crane, Mugger Crocodile

My prediction:
  1. Honey Badger
  2. Lion-tailed Macaque
  3. Bengal slow loris (I think this might be the small mammal besides the macaque)
  4. Sri Lankan Elephant (unfortunately)
  5. Asiatic Lion
  6. Blackbuck
  7. Nilgai
  8. I don't know, maybe there will be an exhibit species but I don't want to fool myself
