You would figure they'd accordingly adjust the numbers for the duration, though, I suppose it's not always things go this quickly either.
This is the first warzone CG for a while where high-intensity ground CZs have been available - Frontier normally seems to try to restrict them to systems and factions which don't generate them. There has been only one previous warzone CG exceeding 200B bonds after a week, and only three others exceeding 100B bonds after a week (and two of those were pre-Odyssey ones with obviously no ground CZs but unusually high participant counts for a one-week war CG)
Snowballing/bandwagon effect of everyone joining the already-winning side as usual, combined with the usual tendencies of players to squeal at the prospect of roleplaying a villain.
But they'll support (most of) the other 11 Powers.
It is quite funny, really:
Salome: The system is corrupt, fight to bring it down. I am also personally highly flawed and clearly an anti-hero at best.
Players: We'll fight for you!
Players: It is most unfair that you got killed!
Every other NPC since who is clearly in some way anti-establishment: I want to bring the system down!
Players: Die, heretic!
In this case I don't think there's any bandwagon effect at all - ALD is up 5.5:1 or 6:1 (depending on whether you count on bonds or players) now, and those ratios are pretty near exactly the same as they were after the first four hours. It's all entirely that the player base collectively has really strong opinions on which murderous tyrants are best.
Mildly interesting implication for me, for what made humans decide to develop those types of missiles now, like the Thargoids did during the war, if it’s completely new.
There really shouldn't be any reason that the guidance system of a missile makes any difference to what you can put in the warhead, so I tend to handwave this sort of thing as the engineers only being licensed to offer scruffy space-mercenaries a limited selection of technology (e.g. we don't get ATR lasers which damage the shield generator, but we can get engineered lasers, and we can get other weapons engineered for generator damage) so plenty of other modifications are possible but the various superpowers and other organisations don't want millions of them in public circulation.
