General shock cannons

As a suggestion, The spec's on shock cannons look like they should be a good weapon, they are not. It would be great If they worked as advertised. Please fix this when you get a chance. It would be nice to have a weapon for well armored ships that fires like the shock cannons. Concord cannons work but shocks should be better. Thanks
 
I tried taking out an Anaconda. I did it but it took forever. how many cannons are firing per shot? I am flying a python m2 well modded only two shock cannons though.
 
Personally I think the damage output is fine. They just run out of ammo far too quickly (there's a number of threads on how a shock cannon does less damage with it's whole ammo pool than any other weapon) and g3 materials for basic ammo resynth is a nope.

They're great fun, sound great, but are one of quite a few forgotten things in the game.

Indeed- make synth basic and cheap, and more ammo.
 
Make it regenerate ammo for free while not shooting, but at a lower damage per hour than what other guns can dish out when engineered to be as close to Shock Cannons as possible.
Let this be an experimental effect for the gun and give it some drawback that doesn't affect DPS. Reduce its ammo pool or add a bit of jitter or make it cost more power, anything but damage output.
