So that would seemingly rule out any kind of waterfowl, pelican or crane which is quite sad. Now we HAVE to get a pheasant

That pretty clearly rules out a fishing cat. Might be a chance that there's no cat at all in this pack.

That's interesting because it means that no other semi-aquatic species is in the pack.

Very bad news: no Mandarin duck or any other wading bird.
We can still be hopeful for fully terrestrial species like blackbuck and pheasants.
