On a side note, this next pack doesn't feature colorful animals. They have striking patterns and looks, yes, but all of them are shades of brown, black, and white.

I mean thats kind of a given with an all mammal pack, pretty much the least colorfull group of animals there is.
True, but that still doesn't mean we couldn't have gotten more colorful mammals. Not saying I wanted another red canid or another yellow feline, but I just found it overall interesting.
Here's hoping that the next DLC (if we get one) will be more colorful
You mean like a Safari Pack with white and black equids, brown and white giraffes, yellow Antelopes, yellow dogs, yellow and black cats, grey birds?
I mean, even without exiting Asia they could have given us the Indian giant squirrel which is borderline purple.

Second giraffe - tan and brown
Second lion - tan and brown
Second zebra - black and white
African civet- black and greys
Klipspringer - browns and tan
Impala - tans and white
Rock Hyrax - browns
Black backed jackal with brown black and tans as a substitute that brings even more color non-variety.
I have no problem with the Bornean elephant. I find it quite different from the Indian elephant in real life and in Planet Zoo (when we talked about the Sri Lankan elephant, I had more trouble). I understand even less why another copy of a lion, tiger, or orangutan would have been so much better:
We already have two subspecies of tiger. Why would having a third be better than having two subspecies of Asian elephant instead of one?
The pack suits me fine. I'm not a huge fan of the raccoon dog, but that seems very personal. I would have loved to have the gaur. That's my only regret.

I didn't even realize the Gaur wasn't here - damn thats a shame, another missed opportunity

Badger most likely, I think the Tanuki as well, don’t really know much about them tbh
If you mean how like how I didn’t realize it wasn’t there I just forgot about how much we talked about it in an India pack and how iconic it is and it’s nowhere to be seen now.

And yes i agree. Stupid elephant clone taking place of gaurs or pheasants or ducks or second monkey (or literally any other animal in Asia that was a better choice).
They look so freaking good, I'm so excited to have them in the game!
