There will be specialised Cargo Units in Size 7 and Size 8 that can fit 50% more cargo, BUT ONLY IN 2 SPECIAL SLOTS, so those 2 slots get a 50% bump.

Now, they could have said the specific number on stream to make it clear, but I figure it as 1236T.
(Previously when FDev have talked about Size 1 slots, they include the one that's only for Planetary Approach Suite.)

Yeah I guess the special racks are only on the c7s. that would be about 1200 tons, so that would fit.

If a class 6 shield works (which it should, if the 7s are meant to be for fancy cargo racks) you're going to see a pretty decent amount of space left over there then. 1300 should be possible, with hull added, which is still a pretty big increase.
