Yup 0E heavy duty super cap weights only 2 t and gives you a+50% . My go to booster on explorees
Sometimes it's just a raceMaybe I just don't get the minmaxing for jump range unless you want to break some kind of speed record.
But a 0E shield booster is lighter than a 0D one. As mentioned, shield boosters don't follow the same logic as other modules. Instead, weight increases from E to A.

That's the most exciting part of the galaxy !One only needs more if they are intent on exploring that sub-1% of stars at the sparse fringes of the galaxy
You can overwrite the optimal mass manually with 2077.4 tons and you get the Titan-FSD values.
0E boosters with Heavy Duty weigh only 2 tons, so half the mass of the 0D.
Where can I find those numbers for the Titan FSD? How do you know it's 2077.4T?
Current 5A FSD (SCO) G5 (Increased Range/Mass Manager) drive...Optimal Mass is 1894.10T.
Standard 5A FSD (SCO)...Optimal Mass is 1175T.
I entered that Titan FSD number, and unladen went from 77.69Ly to 84.19Ly.
That's a nice bump in range in comparison. I have everything but the Titan drive for two drives. Looks like I'll be making some changes!

It doesn't negatively effect my gameplay. I'm a long term explorer, flown pretty much all the usual ships to the far extremes, I guess I never really stuck with the so called 'best' ships.Imagine that a ship line designed almost 400 years ago in the actual lore of the game, feels outdated compared to a new one. Shocked I say.
Ships can't be "too good". That's not really a thing one needs to be concerned with. How does the Mandalay being "too good" actually negatively affect your game experience?
The point about the Mandalay being too good is that it’s a huge step above the other ships for Exobiology hunting, thus making it basically the only ship i am now using out in the black.Imagine that a ship line designed almost 400 years ago in the actual lore of the game, feels outdated compared to a new one. Precisely (well that and the parking) why the Viper Mk IV remains more funMy biggest gripe with the Mandalay is the wing spread making it more difficult flying down crevasses and canyons.
Yup. Just finished up an Exo-Bio trip that took a couple of weeks and pocketed 5.5 billion for my trouble. The point about the Mandalay being too good is that it’s a huge step above the other ships for Exobiology hunting, thus making it basically the only ship i am now using out in the black.
Before the Mandalay the exploring type ships were pretty close and can easily be switched between, aspX, DaimmondbackX, Python, Krait, etc all preforming similar.
Before heading out I prepared a number of ships for Salad hunting and quickly found that my go to ship is the Mandalay that love and does a fantastic job at,
The other ships are just sitting gathering dust.

By the way…… Just found one system that got me 376 million, and got 2 billion this week. it’s a true gold rush out here.
It also gives a good incentive to drive around with an SRV, something that one usually doesn't do much. Driving can be fun too, especially if there's a goal to it.Well I am now finding Exobiology most enjoyable like a big Easter egg hunt that pays well.
My Exo-Sidey doesn't even have an SRV bay. It's a needless extra layer. The Sidey moves around faster, I can mostly see everything from the cockpit, and it can land on the spot. Why would I even need an SRV for this ?It also gives a good incentive to drive around with an SRV, something that one usually doesn't do much. If we had a new SRV with a wide-range bio scanner, or something, not to do the 'collection scans' but to map out the various clusters of species then I would use one. For example, the map could show the 'blue zone' around the species you just collected so that you can quickly drive outside that range to find the next viable sample. Could be particularly useful for navigation on the dark side of a planet which I would typically avoid whenever possible.Because it's fun?
It must be...Because it's fun?
