I know in my heart this can't be targeted at me but damn that was close! 😰

Greetings Commanders.

Alongside the launch of the Panther Clipper MK II on 22nd July, we will also be updating our ARX pricing structure for ships.

New ships will continue to launch in ARX Early Access, before arriving for in-game credits at a later date. You can find the full details here:

Is there any information on wether the cosmetics that were removed from the shop when the whole ARX pricing was reformulated will come back? There are a lot of cosmetics missing for every ship (squadron, tactical, military, basic color paintjobs and etc) and even weapon skins and face tattoos. It would be nice to have those back, I still don't even understand why they were removed in the first place. Any update on this would be appreciated, I'm sure many others would like to purchase these old cosmetics as well.

To translate the new prices into real money:

PC2 Standard - Arx 19,020 (what's with the additional 20 Arx? I could understand 18,980 but this makes little sense to me?) -----> requires a combination of the 5,000 + 16,800 packs at a combined 14.98 Euros
PC2 Stellar - Arx 38,000 -----> requires a combination of the 16,800 + 25,500 packs at a combined 27.48 Euros

Both options still leave a semi-significant amount of unused Arx on the table, so Arx as an intermediary currency is working as intended.

As for the timing of this announcement, I couldn't help but chuckle, given that only yesterday I suggested the market could likely stomach another price hike, judging from the comments around here and elsewhere. Sorry about that lol.

Oh, sure, bigger ships cost more. Makes sense. But hey, remind me why small ships now cost basically the same as medium ones? Because logic clearly jumped out the airlock. Well played. You’ve just torpedoed every ounce of excitement people had for this ‘new ship’... and in the process, managed to confirm that microtransactions aren’t just annoying, they’re evil

I would give you some Arx, if I could :)

I know there are rules in place due to geo-political and other factors, but I wish we could gift Arx to players of our choosing. Steam does it. I have gifted probably a dozen copies of this game to people saying they can't afford it. Steam is happy to take my money every time.

So 38,000 Arx means a new player would have to spend $38 to buy the conveniently priced 51,000 Arx package. I'm sure Fontier's Sales and Market depts have this figured out but, to me, selling the entire game for $10 and then asking $38 for a single ship is kinda getting up there into the 'it ain't happening' space.

I have an alt in Dromi right now and every new noob that I've talked to is floored on how great ED is - we all know it is. Like, really, some of them just can't believe they paid $6 for Horizons and are getting this fantastic experience. Please don't give the game away. Along with the large ship Arx increase, also raise the Deluxe package a little. At least make it make sense: Horizons: $6, Deluxe: $10, Odyssey, which is included in Deluxe: $9. Come on.

This one you can do slightly more efficiently with 25500+8400+5000 (=38,400) at €25.47 - cheaper and less leftovers.

(Which obviously makes your point further)
Aha, I was thinking about that combo but decided against it in a fit of laziness. I do wonder how many people just end up buying the 51k pack instead and be done with it.

EDIT: Actually, while it's closer, the bonus Arx for the two larger packs still make you end up with more Arx than you really need. Another layer to influence buyer sentiment ("free bonus = bargain"). And then you end up buying yet another 5k or so pack to top up the remaining balance to be able to afford another item. Been there, done that myself so many times previously.

Working as intended, indeed.

Plus... as has been noted by someone on Reddit, it's also interesting how a sale is ongoing where people likely wipe out their existing Arx balances. I'm sure it's a complete coincident!
