2027 - 30th Lost World DLC

Weirdly it’s been 10 years since Jurassic World but the game isn’t released yet and kind of missed the anniversary

But as they games kind of have a two year of DLCs pathways. Could we see a DLC Lost World in 2027 as it would be 30 years since 1997 film release.

Question is, if they did this what would you like to see?

For me, I’d like them to add the mobile operations bendy van and the high hide. Doesn’t have to be functional could be decorate pieces. But I would like a workers village building

I would personally like a Lost World expansion pack.

The Lost World is woefully underrepresented in the Evolution titles. We have gotten bits and pieces here and there, but we have never approached its true potential. Given the Badlands set we are seeing, we are rapidly exhausting Jurassic Park of its remaining content, so I think its only logical Frontier start to shift in this direction. Having said that, I don't know about waiting until 2027, I think that might be too far out, I'd like to see it drop some time in 2026 then just have something smaller and more commemorative for the anniversary.

Anyhow, I'd like to see a new original Lost World Campaign, huge new Sorna map, and corresponding building set by default. Introduce some sort of new gameplay mechanic like really leaning into the Wrangling/Poaching angle that we glimpsed in the Dominion Chaos Theory then crank it up a level for Lost World. Loads of new decorations and lean heavily into that abandoned InGen decorative aesthetic to spice up our parks. I highly suspect with modular building that destroyed buildings will be unlikely, so this creates a key opportunity for some Lost World decorative pieces/buildings to fill this void.

Also, personally, I really miss the Sorna 1993 from the RtJP expansion from the first Evolution title. The fog, river, super steep cliffs and narrow paths made for one of the most unique maps we've seen. I appreciate the challenge and thought working around that kind of restraint was awesome just like how Pena being so tiny required you to really dig in and try a different approach. I hope we can find a way to balance this out like maybe have a couple maps/locations to really flex the size of Sorna and encapsulate that vast and varied feeling it has.

As of now, there is nothing of the Jurassic Park gameplay in Jurassic World: Evolution 3. The campaign in the base game is absolutely of the Jurassic World era.

There 100% are Jurassic Park style buildings in JWE3 its even one of the building sets in the gameplay trailer with the thatched roofs like always. I'd say we also have good precedent to have expansions that are neither canonical or in the same chronological time period. The campaign for the new title is also more open in the order you play it and aren't necessarily tightly connected think more in the vein of JWE1 where it was pretty loose about any actual chronological time frame you were doing things rather than just gameplay driven progression systems.

If your eagle eyed. You would of seen Jurassic Park buildings in some of the building options so it will be there

The Visitor Center is exclusive in the Jurassic Park era.

In Jurassic World: Evolution 1, the Visitor Center has the modules of research, expeditions, and DNA extraction.

In Jurassic World: Evolution 2, the Visitor Center is an alternative to the Control Center.

In Jurassic World: Evolution 1, there is an non-canon story in the Jurassic Park era.

In Jurassic World: Evolution 2, the first two levels of Chaos Theory are to build two different Jurassic-Park-type parks. We see John Hammond in the first one, but Peter Ludlow is mentioned in the opening of the second. The original character Ron Thompson seems to take over Ludlow's role.

As for Jurassic World: Evolution 3, what will it be? This is not about customizable buildings making it Jurassic Park or Jurassic World, it is about whether we will build Jurassic-Park-type parks or not.

Define "Jurassic-Park-type parks" as this is really vague. Are you asking if we will have Jurassic Park era campaign missions?

Assuming so, I'd doubt JP campaigns would be in at launch, but I wouldn't rule it out since in Evolution we did get the Return to Jurassic Park expansion, and in Evolution 2 we had Chaos Theory missions dedicated to the Jurassic Park era which were essentially campaign missions in their own right. I'm thinking if we get a Lost World expansion it would be more in the vein of the former than the latter. It would likely be a stand alone campaign scenario.

Based on what the invited community members saw from their closed door event over at Frontier, the Evolution 3 campaign will be Cabot Finch driven, so aside from some references to the past it is almost certain all the known campaign missions are set post-Dominion even if not all of them fall in perfect chronological order.

In Jurassic World: Evolution 1, in both Return to Jurassic Park campaign and the Jurassic-Park-era challenge mode, there are 25 species:

- all 16 species including Pteranodon from the Jurassic Park film trilogy.
- Proceratosaurus, Herrerasaurus, Metriacanthosaurus, and Baryonyx are the embryos that Dennis Nedry pilfered for Biosyn.
- Dryosaurus, Maiasaura, Styracosaurus, Euoplocephalus, and Apatosaurus are species exclusive to the original novel version of Jurassic Park.

I never realized that the Chaos Theory levels in Jurassic World: Evolution 2 are campaign missions.

There are 29 species that can be used in the first Chaos Theory level corresponding to the movie adaptation of Jurassic Park:

  • All 7 from the movie
  • Of the embryo species, Proceratosaurus and Metriacanthosaurus were chosen.
  • From the records relevant to the movie lore, Compsognathus were present in the original Jurassic Park.
  • With the exception of Cearadactylus, 6 novel-exclusive species including Stegosaurus.
  • From the records, Suchomimus and Pachyrhinosaurus are planned to be added to the original Jurassic Park.
  • Before any of the Jurassic World: Evolution games, Camarasaurus is one of the 10 species exclusive to Jurassic Park: Operation Genesis.
  • Coelophysis, Struthiomimus, Archaeornithomimus, Majungasaurus, Iguanodon, Huayangosaurus, Chungkingosaurus, Gigantspinosaurus, Megalosaurus, and Diplodocus are added as new species exclusive in the game.

There are 28 species that can be used in the second Chaos Theory level corresponding to the movie adaptation of The Lost World: Jurassic Park:

  • With the exception of Pteranodon, nine species from the movie.
  • The records said that there were Dilophosaurus in Isla Sorna.
  • Dryosaurus, Maiasaura, Carnotaurus, and Apatosaurus are novel-exclusive species.
  • The records said that Brachiosaurus was originally intended for Jurassic Park: San Diego before Jurassic Park in Isla Nublar.
  • Suchomimus and Pachyrhinosaurus meant for Jurassic Park Nublar are included.
  • The Jurassic Park: Operation Genesis exclusive Camarasaurus is included.
  • The Troodon debuted in semi-canon Jurassic Park: The Game.
  • Coelophysis, Struthiomimus, Majungasaurus, Huayangosaurus, Chungkingosaurus, Gigantspinosaurus, Chasmosaurus, Megalosaurus, and Crichtonsaurus are added as new species exclusive in the game.

If there is a Jurassic-Park era campaign mission in Jurassic World: Evolution 3, I want to know what new species are added.

Chaos Theory itself was a weird experiment Frontier pulled, the actual JWE2 Campaign feels like a tutorial and lacks depth, so the DWF aside from giving us a new building set felt really lackluster. I get it was to tie-in with Dominion and not step on the films toes, but there just weren't the mechanics in place to do much, half the time it was just like place [x species] into an enclosure and observe them for [x amount of time] or take [x number of species photos] which was super fast and easy to do. Chaos Theory felt like they were more like proper park builder scenarios (excluding JP3/Fallen Kingdom) loosely based on the 6 films to some degree.

Frontier did a second what-if scenario with the Jurassic Park Chaos Theory level
(first is RtJP) and a what-if for Jurassic Park San Diego where you just rebuild/build a park using a few of the new mechanics. So, I don't think it exactly rules out them creating a scenario with a bunch of mission objectives set in some non-canon Jurassic Park/Lost World era. Admittedly, I think they'll have to get more creative since they've used up a lot of material and almost all the species the novel not withstanding.

To be fair, if you are interested in species for a Lost World expansion, maybe a few novel species make it, and a smattering of non-canon Frontier originals. Frontier hasn't exactly been 100% on accuracy in the past, so I could easily see them tossing some other species in which isn't bad, actually probably good for variety purposes. I think of the expansions as more for maps, gameplay scenarios, and introducing new buildings/tilesets with some central mechanic they are built around like how Biosyn Valley had the Hyperloop or Malta the Dinosaur Exchange to tweak the gameplay formula a little.

Overall, I'd say JWE3 is probably the first Evolution title that has enough systems/mechanics you could actually craft Campaign scenarios and mission objectives around, so that they don't feel forced or like you are doing the same repetitive thing ad nauseam.
