COMPLETED CG Join Aisling Duval's Call To Arms (Combat)

I guess since I can’t actually officially join a side, it’s really annoying how often the stupid bug kicks in where everyone suddenly turns hostile, even though I don’t hit anyone “friendlies”. It really is a terrible CG. FDEV need to fix their game mechanics.
I've experienced very little of this fighting Rui's orcs down in Gondul. Kind've surprising really since recent CGs seemed more dangerous and I accidentally ended up with four or five flashing red triangles on the radar because I maybe annoyed another wing unintentionally. I've not noticed much wing activity here though and usually just end up with a second NPC getting random digs in before getting bored.

I play solo mode and I see caustic clouds around CZ and someone hitting me with caustic weapons that kill me almost instantly.
Are there new weapons I'm missing out? ( I don't follow closely the developments or news)

The WORST GC i have ever seen. A big trap to lose ships in 0 seconds if for any reason one of the capital ships considers you enemy and blasts you out of the sky in 0 seconds..
Lost my 6000 shield Cutter 3 times in a row in 0 seconds without being able to even realize i am being shot from the capital ship and run away at least..
FIX THE BUG , or just let us know not to play this ..........
A single fire from a turret or a misfire as you drive around firing on maneuvering enemies hitting the capital ship and YOU ARE DEAD....

This ended up being a massive waste of time as I joined the CG, flew out to several of the power conflict zones and never got the option to join a side.

Now I'm going to have to make back the money I had to spend getting myself and my corsair back to my home station along with the costs for buying and outfitting said corsair.

You realize you could've just scanned ships until you found one of the side you wanted to fight and started pulling triggers? That effectively signs you up to the CZ or will at least provide CG contributions even if it doesn't show you a progress bar or anything (since this appears to be a bit on the buggy side for non-pledges and/or pledges of those powers not in the CG, as I hear).

Probably the outpost or capital ship did that

So... the broken thing about having the CZ around the space station is you can get into an endless cycle of being destroyed before you can leave the station area.

And... no love for low intensity CZ players.

Good work, FDev.

Was there any mention of the experimental effect of the flag cannon we get for this CG reward?

Be that as it may, I have something to say to the staff who devised this CG.
The CZ around the station is very exciting and good.
It feels good to shoot as much as I want at armaments that I normally tend to refrain from firing due to ammunition capacity.
I think it is a good trade-off to be burned by the station laser as a punishment for misfiring.
Anyway, thanks for a fun battlefield!

I've used it as testing ground for new loadouts too....and dropped them again. None were better than what I already had.

Turrets seem to be not a good idea in this cg.
I use 2 gimballed beams and 4 fixed Pacifiers.
The NPC's seem to lure you to the capital ship on purpose, so you accidentally hit it.
If they dash towards the megaship, just let them go, they'll come back, just don't hit the megaship.

Which actually makes this an awesome CG, not "the WORST CG". It has some additional tactical depth to it, rather than just being a mindless combat grind.

I'm aligned to Pranav Antal. I have to say this power conflict zones are very jarring when you're not allied to any of the powers involved in this CG.

I think FDev need to think more about the UI and UX of these CGs. I'm not gonna bother with the remainder of this one which is a shame, as I've enjoyed the more recent CGs.

No ground CZs = no interest for me. Simple equation 😎. There should be bigger interests to make things equally possible for ships/on foot play to make it overall more integrated. Separate space and onfoot play is imo bad direction.
Damn... Came here to ask this question.
I love ground CGs, super high pace and super fun.

But these TTKs on regular space CGs with all the enemies having everything engineered and then with added Spec Ops, it gets tedious and dull very quickly... Hell Inara predicts only a 20% performance at 2 weeks and that assumes continuous play at the current rate...

Ugh. To be honest, I hate this. Being forced to farm impossibly tanked tiny ships is such an enormous slog.

Anyone have tips for which ship and setup does this best? I'm thinking slugconda, but I'm open to suggestions.

Yeah, it's pretty dull and also they are all expert and competent with a few dangerous, so you can't even use it to rank up combat rank to any extent...
500 ships killed and my combat rank has increased from Elite 12% to... Elite 12%...

There are not many places that teach CMDRs trigger discipline, so some might be in for a nasty surprise if you spam your guns at the station willy nilly. But why wouldn't they instantly delete you? This is a world where you get obliterated for a bloody parking offence.
Then why doesn't the ship just wipe out Duval's forces by itself, it's clearly very capable...
Sit by the station, get another player to fire at you, they miss and hit the ship and then instantly die.
The ship could just kill all the player characters the moment they come within range. not have to wait until the ship is shot at. it makes no sense at all.
So weird.

Genuinely the funniest detail in the setting imo... double parking is a capital crime

I think the idea is the ship is where the power struggle is happening, but it's not what it's happening to, if you see what I mean. Nobody on any side is attacking the ship, so it doesn't really care what's going on. It just ignores everyone.

And yeah, it could trivially solo every ship in the AO. If you wanted to take that thing, you'd have to bring a cap ship of your own.

Is there an equivalent “counter CG” for Archer / LYR pledged CMDRs? Given the penalty for “de-pledging” this seems very biased towards a particular Power if there are no rewards for taking the other side?!

Yes, one for each.
