Typically new ships appear in EDSY and/or Coriolis within a few days of launch, depending what the kind folk updating those are up to on launch week.
To get a complete set of data to update those they need the final in-game information for certain stats.

I don't know about large ships been easier to fly but I definitely hit more things or scrap the paint now and again on small ships because I get cocky and smack the boost button permanently and do everything with high octane meanwhile my Space Brick I just line up and let it chug along smooth as you like.is it just me who finds the big ships easier to fly than the small ones a lot of the time?.
I guess it's just I am out of practice on the small ones but I have a real issue getting the little ones on the pads. give me a T9, T10 or conda however and they are easy, FAoff is also far simpler.
also... real men don't use docking computers or cruise assist!

Docking computer is fine as long as you don't rely on it with pad 45, that one's dodgy.
