COMPLETED CG Support Panther Clipper Mk II Launch with Critical Deliveries (Trade)

This might be a stupid question, but reading that the ship will be "available for exclusive purchase initially before transitioning to standard shipyard inventories later in the year", does that mean you can only purchase the ship if you contribute? Or am I misreading that? I'd hate to have to wait even longer to buy the ship in a shipyard.

I am pretty sure that just refers to the ARX early access period that all new ships from 2024 onward, clipper included, have gone through. As best as I understand, the only change you will see from participating in the CG is access to the event-exclusive ship kit.

Ah I see. That's kind of what I figured (or at least hoped for, lol)

„… and due to the great popularity of the Panther Clipper and to at least partially fulfill the CMDRs great expectations, Zorgon Peterson has also released a Panther Clipper Bobblehead, which can be purchased for 19,900 ARX“
...and in order to encourage more aggressive play and create more vulnerability and therefore fluidity in your Panther Clipper Bobblehead, it will decay each turn until settling at 25%, requiring more ARX to remain at 100%.

You can make ₡56M per run in a Type 9 delivering Gallium. Not bad.
Yes if you can find free Gallium. If you have to buy it, you have to subtract the expense of approx 17.000.000. Netting you a profit of about 39.000.000 per run. Still decent though.

You can of course mine gallium yourself and net all the 56M in profit. But I don’t want to imagine the time wasted doing this. Especially since you could have been mining platinum instead and earning 216M pr run.

Gah. See now I have to bring my main account back from the void (which I could cross in a day but ... after leaving throughout the last CG because I expected the next one would be Powerplay too (I barely partake in them), and the point defenses might have some applications in specific scenarios, even if the ones I have in mind currently don't exist within the game. Plus the paintjob doesn't look half bad.

Not enough people are joining this CG. I feel like it would be in our best interests to fully complete this one. It may determine how quickly the Panther Clipper is released to the shipyards.

The date is set at 22. July; next Tuesday. AFAIK there hasn't been any announcements about any changes in plans.

I've done my bit but it's only for the Point defence as I missed out the last cg that gave them.
I doubt very much the lack of interest or how quickly it's gets completed will speed up or slow down the shipyard release.
Also bear in mind it only started yesterday so at least wait til the weekend is over ?

Indeed the CG could just be some lore fluff. A bit like I suspect the whole Titan bombing bonanza would have gone through on its timeline as we know it, regardless of how successful players were at the delivery CG for those funky relics.

It really doesn't. It's a fluff piece. Nothing more, nothing less. The only reason this gets delayed if they find something gamebreaking, or for some reason decide to alter the ship last minute.
