What other games are we all playing?

I just re-installed WoWs ... Again!! I uninstalled it a couple of months ago when it kept locking up on random pages; mostly Reward pop ups would hang up ... not every time but periodically, consistently, etc. So off to purgatory I sent WoWs. Now its back on my machine. I've haven't played much of anything the past few weeks. RL hasn't been the culprit, just a lack of interest (for now). I've played ED doing random things with no real focus ... around 3 or 4 hours the past few weeks. That's terrible!!! Oh well.

One thing about ED I don't think I've read much about, it has the best planetary ring simulation that I've played in any space game. Are there any other spaceship games that model ringed planets as good or better than ED ?

Have a great day

Currently, its an even race between WoWs and ED. I aim to get in a scrap or two in ED (which I rarely do). WoWs is nothing but scraps.
I'm trying to find another type of game besides space and military sim/RTS. Building games look interesting. X4 is a building game (sorta) and it was fun creating space ports, industries and habitats.
Workers and Resources: Soviet Republic looks very nice but very detailed which probably means a lot of micro management
There's two Mars building games that I've eyeballed a few times. Both look nice. Per Aspera and Surviving Mars are different play styles and since I haven't played either, I know nothing.

I posed a question above concerning planetary rings. I went looking for the subject and got no good hits. I used the words - games space simulation of asteroid ringed planets - to no avail.

Other than the "games" SpaceEngine and Universe Sandbox, I've not seen any other game with semi-realistic asteroid rings (and I don't consider those games). I have not played SpaceEngine for over a year and I never played Universe Sandbox so I'm going from vids I've seen. I know Spacebourne2 has rings that are like colored planes; you pass right through like a light curtain ... no worry with roids and rocks.

There is so much great game play in and around planetary rings.

random thoughts
have a nice day

Rimworld Odyssey just released. In short it adds new biomes, landmark features (cliffs, islands, etc.), quests, loot and most importantly: the "flyable" ship. It's a mobile base. Oh and new pets and animals. It has fishing too now. Yeah, I think I'm gonna get it.

For those wishing to dip a toe, Jurassic World Evolution 2 is on sale on Steam, 95% off, for only £2.49.

Yes, you read that right, two pound fifty*!

* with a penny back

AND... squee... RDR2 is £14.99 until the 24th.

Having had a good long break from it, I'm back to enjoying Far Cry 5. I didn't gel with FC6 and have long given up with it.
For FC5 I found myself wishing for a couple of nukes. I ended up hating both side equally......
Fully agree with FC6
Far Cry 3 is still my favourite of the lot. Vaas is one of the greatest protagonists I've ever had the pleasure of trying to keep away from. :)

I'm more of a fan of Pagan Min myself, which isn't to detract from Vaas, he was brilliantly portrayed.

In FC4 I would have happily have done away with the two fantastically irritataing protagonists - Sabal and Amita - and would rather have sailed off into the sunset with Pagan!

I'd actually like FC7 to go back to the original Far Cry, with a mad scientist and tri-gens. The addition of TriGens would have made the second island of FC3 feel different and meaningful, rather than 'more of the same' - which for me is increasingly 'the problem' with this rather formulaic series.

Have a look at Transport Fever 2. They’ve recently announced 3 for 2026, so you know what you’re getting as development has finished on 2.
As a huge fan of Cities Skylines (1) I was skeptical that I'd get into TF2 as it seemed to focus almost solely on the logistics aspect as opposed to wider city building concepts and traffic management (which I enjoy), but it was previously on sale for 10 Euros so pulled the trigger.

Dumped dozens of hours into it since (spent all of yesterday afternoon on refining my rail connections), and while it's deceivingly simple at first glance, it offers some serious (often self-inflicted) challenges - but it can also just serve as a really pretty and detailed model railway that I would've loved to own as a small kid.
