Game Discussions Star Citizen Discussion Thread v12

So are you telling us you've cracked and bought a Raft than Daniel? ;)

Finally supporting the project, as it proves everyone wrong with this latest borked patch...
Sure did, at 3.5M credits it's almost 200 SCU of capacity and practicality are very worthy. Specially since I had never tried big hauling before and old Betsy capacity was simply too low. Hauling basically opened and funded all my other industrial ships (mining and salvaging).

I had most of the dough from doing Pyro missions it was a a different move than going for the traditional vertical upgrade of the Cutter to Cutlass Black. Best move ever since just doing chains of hauling missions proved to be very profitable while complementing itself well with the Prospector and Vulture since I can use it to transport the refined ore mined and salvaged materials the sell in the main cities.

While ore was refined I would just do more hauling or salvaging along with bunker cleaning, there's always abandoned ships nearby.

It's kinda grindy but it's honest work the industrial life and I've spoiled me with one of the coolest ships (Corsair 6.5M along with some extras to carry in it.) to dabble in the PVE fighting missions. I even had to wait in a cue to buy it like a good trooper.

Totally worth it since it has good dps, Armour and cargo hold. Besides, asymmetric ship design rocks !

To make things better as I've went on to get the Raft and get deep into the Hauling path they make a hauling event with amazing prizes, free Armour, weapons and ship skins along with decent credits. Already at 3M credits. Still missing a heavy bomber, anti-capital, touring and towing ship. Also some kind of fighter for PvP, but that's further down the line. Still much hauling to be done. Too much...but hey, can't resist to free skins and gear.

Lol, good luck hard-selling the event friendo.

(If your target audience can read your message, they can also see the tumultuous complaints ;))

Ah ok, still not powering the vision with dollars then. You're asking them to reach the promised land on fumes!

May the god of wipes smile kindly upon you.
Nah, no need to spend money to fly this corsair. ;) Don't believe the myth that everything is constantly wiped, or that a solo player with a starting ship can't progress and get cool stuff or even that you need a pc with a 5090 to run it.
The event sells itself thanks to the rewards; :)

And this is the internet sir, there's always someone hurting...

That's why I got a rover with a medbay :ROFLMAO:

No that's true, each patch can also add ship duplicates instead.

Play silly games, win silly prizes...

Yep. In this case it's mainly the guys who funded this folly ;)
Could be handy to shorten spawn times but I haven't been blessed :ROFLMAO:

The views alone are worthy :)

Considering they keep funding it at an increasing rate when others would prefer otherwise I'd say they aren't the ones hurting :ROFLMAO:

Couple of questions to ask here Dany:

1. Have the RACKs tractor beam mechanics been implemented?
2. Same question, but relating to its Cargo Container mechanics?

Besides the manual tools and the mech some cargo/utilitarian ships have their own tractor beams, the Raft has it in the back at a corner and it's controlled through the console on the top deck so having a crew can speed things up.

Works just like a 360º first person view magic beam you use the scroll wheel up and down to pull/push things around.

The ATLS (mech) is the strongest/fastest when mastered.

That PC reddit thread naturally had someone jumping in to big up SC and downtalk ED:

Yes, but im not comparing a completed game with an alpha, merely stating what the completed game lacks.

Playing the old "Its alpha" card.

So the other person responds:

Ok sure, but do remember that they started at the same time.

And then the other bull excuses come out:

Kickstarter yes, but the pre-production for Elite had been going on for over a decade or more according to Braben.
Also, they already had a studio under their belt and made ONE game, not TWO at the same time.
And with Frontier having it being mostly procedurally generated that saved a lot of time.
They are at their core very different games.

Nope, as you know full well, $$$ whales call time on this farce with every broken patch:

Some recent examples of chagrin include this guy claiming to be $140,000 deep, this simple $1K fella, or these $30,000 regrets.

This isn't garden-variety internet griping. This is people who've been misled down a very long, and expensive, garden path...

The perpetual dollar loop is clearly powered by new whales as much as old. All drawn in by CIG's 'playable now' mantras, glitzy graphics, and the willing MLM glazing of guys like yourself.

Meanwhile the brass tacks are that: Their latest patch requires hauling goods to freight elevators that have never worked reliably since their addition. Which can brick both your load and your ship in a colourful variety of ways at the end of a long haul.

You'd think, while bigging up the FOMO cosmetics that can be earned through such delights, that you might see fit to mention that?

(Or hell, maybe mention that most other activities have been borked by this patch, due to the mission system parping out?)

If the horizons of your screengrabs stretched a little further, you could even mention that this is pretty usual for every content patch CIG drops. It's distractions, disarray, and the quiet deletion of past shiny, all the way down ;)

The name of this event is still just the cherry on top for me 😁

And that is what I do. I play both SC and Elite regularly and I enjoy both for different things. Right now I'm vibing in Elite because SC is an absolute nightmare due to 4.2.1 being broken beyond reason. But I still put up with it to get Hurston to tier 5 and Microtech to tier 5 in the Second Life Resource Drive.
