Perspective is always a female dog, but the size in comparison to the rocks implies something larger to my eyes.

Wait. That bottom looks more like a cargo hatch than an SLF hangar. So it's probably really small.
Then again the pod may be the cargo hatch. So it's a medium to large ship. Probably too wide for a medium.

What exactly defines a "mining" ship? What makes a ship a mining ship in comparision to any old multipurpose one? Every ship with enough optionals and possibly a big enough distro for the lasers is a mining ship, isn't it?

Probably something new unique to this ship that alters mining gameplay. Also, are what we call thrusters even thrusters ? the distances don't add up, the two sides are not symmetrical. That might actually be limpets.

No way, FD would have to be insane for the next ship to have a bigger capacity than the Clipper. The backlash from the community would be huge.

Maybe in a few years they would be able to release the Boa as a ship with a bigger capacity than the PC (although the Boa had less capacity than the PC as I recall).

Seriously, the way they are heading (upon reading my suggestions for TARDIS cargo holds) they will solve the capacity demands with Model II Cargo racks, Model III, engineerable etc - much easier than bringing in bigger and bigger ships.

I can think of a few unique mining features i'd like to see.

Special pusle wave scanner that makes it easier to find core asteroids.
Very low power draw and heat using mining lasers.
Collector limpets are boosted in speed and health.

I wouldn't mind a built in size 6 refinery. I always end up manually scrubbing bins, even on the size 4.

I'd say the round port is the SRV bay, the large square patch behind it looks like an SLF hangar door.

In this case it wouldn't be a very large ship, it would be comparable with the Krait, so either a medium or a very small large (maybe due to it's width).

Yes, it has the same lights as the SRV bay of other ships.

Huh. I've never felt the need for a refinery larger than size 2 - as a core miner, that is. I don't laser mine, do you need more bins for that?

When you mine everything, yes.

Looks a bit like the T8 at the front with short prongs, has the same cockpit 'bubble' at the front, dunno what the round bit is, and the back end coiuld be SLF or something.
without something for scale though, it could be any size.
I did try to bring out more details... changed luminance, RGB intensities and then inverted it...

When I core mine, I mine nearly every core I come across except the total rubish. At the most that's usually four differnt minerals, a size 2 then has two bins to spare - that's fine for me.

Depends on the ring, up to 14 I think.
