ACTIVE CG Brewer corporation calls for Trailblazer resupply

A top 10 spot in this CG is probably impossible without a Panther.
Or even with one for 99.9x% of players and probably would be the case if the Top 10 restricted them selves to T9 or Cutter.

Me too!
I still can remember the times when cg's unlocked the availbly to purchase them after completing via a tech broker for everyone and only the top contributors got an 'early free' one for there contribution...
Yes but most of those CGs said that they were to unlock the module, the ones where the module was just mentioned as a reward gave us just the modules that have never been available elsewhere.

Interestingly (I thought) I was just attacked by LYR power security heading with my 1236T titanium into Starlace at Minerva (in solo). A first for me!

First the SCO, now engineered cargo racks ... maybe LYR has had enough of these new tech upstarts?
Yeah, when I jump in to Starlace there's usually a jumped up LYR hotdog in a Viper who takes a potshot at me just as I'm approaching the toast rack--one of many reasons why I won't fly shieldless while hauling!

Considering how many LYR ships I blew up a few weeks ago under the banner of Aisling Duval... probably fair lol.

Randomly decided to browse the forums for the first time in about 3 weeks. Honestly I am surprised by racks with +cargo capacity, but I was always hoping for engineered racks that allowed a small percentage more cargo and weighed a lot less when empty (they seem to be made of cast iron,) or specific uses - say increased capacity, but the extra can only do limpet storage. Yes, as as result of less of that corner cutting, we might end up with more ships capable of multirole, not sure if that is a bad or good thing.

I echo the sentiment although the recent CGs back to back have been interesting from a power standpoint, but here we are, back to hauling. Gameplay mechanics are always going to push us in the direction of hauling or combat, and as a result, is will be hard to make it feel like player input into a CG neither wasted or onesided.

Weigh less when empty? If I am not mistaken, all cargo racks are zero weight. Only cargo counts.

If there is no wining then why do it ? 75% isn't winning it's just participating. You win more credits and bragging rights . I don't have a problem with a hauling CG when the best hauler is available to all . When Fdev are asking money and then bringing a CG for Hauling then their methods are dubious at the least . As with CG rewards they aren't available to all even after completion.
But it depends on your definition of winning in game .

I don't know, maybe for fun? You earn a lot more hauling that with the reward... so the only competition there is just to virtual "fame". But if so, then doing it without PC2 is even worth more!

Ok? I dont realy get what you talking about. I wanted to express my feelings, that the current implementation of cg has nothing to do with 'community' if you ask me. Its only for the ones who participate, which is not the whole playerbase. Hidlng new items behind fomo mechanics is greedy uninspirational gamedesign from the stoneage in my opinion
We had a better implementation years ago....

I never suggested otherwise, just pointing out that they could have either extended those CGs or included the now-never-to-be-available-again* PJ in this one to allow for people that had other things going on that prevented them from being able to take to space.

* My only issue with this.
That's just how FDev rolls. Miss something, miss out. Apparently, there was a whole alien invasion and massive war while I was on hiatus from the game. Many people say it was the best content that's ever happened in Elite, and it seems to have made most people who participated super rich. I missed out on it entirely. Oh well, them's the breaks.

But that isn't about "winning" in any meaningful sense. That's just you being hypercompetitive. That's entirely a you problem tbh.

Edit: I apologise for the double post. I didn't realise which thread this was, and for some reason, we can't delete our posts here.¯\(ツ)

And what exactly do you "win" except some credits, which are arguably rather meaningless, and some bragging rights? One could even argue it's more "pay to lose", because to get a top ten spot you have toi haul so much, your life probably takes a backseat and maybe even sucks ;).

I'm not one to defend actual P2W, but seriously - you can't win if there is nothing to win in the first place. The top ten CMDRs will get the same rewards apart from credits and bragging rights as the CMDR delivering a few T-8s full of goods. 75% isn't really a high bar by any means.

Its still more than you started with
and it runs for 4 weeks (and yes, the goal should be adjusted if needed to keep the time frame. It is holiday time!). A Type 8 with 368t a day makes 2576t a week or 10304t in 4 weeks. The 2576t could possible be enough for the 75%-goal.
The monetary rewards are pitifull. You buy CMM Composite for 5000cr and sell it for 59000cr at the CG. That is for a daily Type 8 500.000.000cr and the Top 10 only get 325.000.000cr (at this moment, with higher tiers it will increase, but I doubt it will be more than 500.000.000cr) as a reward.

What I was talking about was that the CGs that released a module into general availability said that releasing the module was the aim of the CG with perhaps a free module to some or more that contributed.
The CGs that just handed out modules as a reward that weren’t released into general availability had some other stated aim such as build something between the bubble and colonia the modules were solely a reward to participants only.

I have always read the Community as being the group named as issuing the request for help, an in game thing, not the community of people playing Elite.

Replaced the screen shots for CMM composites, 2 for medium pads, min 500 supplies, 2 for large pads, min 1,000 supplies. Or, of course, you could go to Inara and select your own requirements. :)
All of the screenshots still mention demand quantities - shouldn't that be supply? ;)
Inara is currently predicting that this CG will be completed in 4d 22h 8m. If FDev really want to stretch this one out, they're gonna have to either add more tiers, or slap on one giant mega-tier to ensure it lasts for a time that's even close to the stated four weeks.
I reckon there's exactly zero doubt about them doing something to stretch it out.

I’m inclined to agree, looking at the precedent of the previous CGs which got extended even if they were in their second (of two) weeks and on the last weekend already.

At the same time I have a feeling we just got the four weeks because they have nothing else to fill the gap with. So the CG ending early wouldn’t leave anything in its place, most likely.

… not that it would bother me because I’d rather use my braincells on building my colonies than an artificially generated resupply CG for locations I barely use to any longer, just for these cargo racks.
