Agreed and I think that this speaks to the heart of the issue, in that completing either game is now beyond them. Forget the original scope, the stretch goals and lofty ambitions, forget even plopping out an acceptable minimum viable product.Squadron 42 won't flop. It will never release. Three years ago I thought they would squirt something out, just to avoid investor liabilities, but now I don't think that it's possible even if Crobberts gave up all micromanagement.
That endemic bugs remain year after year suggests that the core is a mess, the reintroduction of previous bugs suggests that source control is ineffective if it exists at all, and the whole mess shows that those in charge are incapable.
No matter the pretty screen shots that are available, the furment on their own forum and elsewhere tells the story of thirteen years of lies, obfuscation and failure. And along the way, some key folk have doubtlessly made themselves very wealthy by mining the hopes and dreams of generous backers who deserve so much more.
