DLC21 Speculation

I guess "open but unprepared for a pleasant surprise" is the current general state of the community.
I know it’s certainly mine. There are a ton of DLC ideas I would love, but that doesn’t mean we will get them/ Frontier will make it in a way I like.

  1. Coastal: could have pinnipeds, a sea otter, birds, and maybe fish in the exhibit box. Probably not gonna get a ton of new exhibit animals, and outside of maybe a new penguin Frontier wouldn’t give us “new” birds. Also not enough ungulates could work in a pack like this.
  2. Temperate: this idea could still work, but I don’t expect Frontier to give us a balanced DLC. I expect it to be like Asia, Arid, Barnyard, etc. where I can see the pack being way too ungulate heavy. IMO nearly all packs should have wetlands levels of diversity.
  3. Rainforest: same issue as above (see the recurring issue here), could have some monkeys, birds, maybe even a reptile. Expect it to be more mammal heavy.
  4. Bird pack: not gonna happen. As much as they deserve it Frontier won’t do a pack focused on one group of animals. Even if they have made all mammal packs a couple times now. That is clearly a “coincidence”
As others have noted, Frontier might not have the budget for PZ1 DLCs, so I’m not expecting anything flashy.

Yeah at this point i'm all in for a new dlc as long as it has long awaited and most wanted animals, otherwise i rather them just finish already with version one.
Yeah, after 2 DLC without any animals from the top parts of the wishlist (though some were very welcome nonetheless) and the Tasmanian Devil being the last Metalist #1 to make it in the game, if there are more packs coming, they really should at least try to get another 1 or 2 highly requested animals in there.

If not, it's still welcome, but at the same time I'd be just as fine to move on.

As Planet Zoo 2 surely will not come faster than Planned, new DLCs or not, I will always prefer to get as much new DLCs as possible. I am pretty Sure that I will Not be that much into a Sequel with another 5-6 years of new content every few months, as I was within Planet Zoo 1. For me every species is Welcome. Sure, I prefer some over other but most of my biggest wishes are already within the Game.

Agree 100%

I can understand that. But if we keep getting more content and the theme fits for the Coati and they don't include it I may go mad.

I guess when I think about it, if given the options of getting more DLC but no new birds, no coati, no tree Kangaroo, no Mara or no more New World Primates...or just moving on to PZ2 sooner...I'd just prefer to move on to PZ2 that much sooner.

Assuming of course PZ2 were to actually introduce flying birds and fully marine animals.I want the coati, but if it's going to be the big seller for PZ2 I will end up waiting. I'm not buying a whole new game just for that.

Been taking a break from PZ for a bit, had been thinking about the future of the game. I still support one final big pack that is big enough to be warranted as 2 dlc so would be a fair combo for console.
Then I can focus on mods.
PZ2 and planet aquarium can begin development.
I’m sure there’s a lot in store for PC2 and they want to give a lot of attention to JWE3

A new DLC idea has come to my mind.

Unusual Species Pack
  1. Shoebill.
  2. Short-Beaked Echidna.
  3. Walrus.
  4. Muskox (the horns are quite strange to me).
  5. Blue Racer Snake [E].
  6. Gelada.
  7. Southern Ground Hornbill.
  8. Southern Elephant Seal.
Honourable mentions:
  1. Golden Snub-Nosed Monkey.
  2. Bat-Eared Fox.
  3. Alligator Snapping Turtle.
  4. Serval.
  5. Naked Mole Rat [E].

Nice idea. Gonna note the Coati is also a unique looking species and two pennipeds is not reall that necessary.

Yeah for the Odd ones pack i would go hard on oceania and SA and do the following roster:

1. South american coati
2. Patagonian mara
3. Brown pelican (pelicans are weird man)
4. Short beaked echidna
5. Goodfellow's tree kangaroo (could be swapped for any other weird looking oceanian animal like numbat or greater bilby)
6. Secretary bird (i prefer it over the shoebill and they do look quite unusual as well)
7. Gerenuk
8. Ex: naked mole rat (i like that idea)
