Bought ED in December 2014, joined the forums in March 2015, Oculus DK2 in April 2015 solely for this game and have been playing ever since (not with the DK2 though).

lol i remember when i had my DK2 but before FD had officially committed to supporting it (as opposed to the DK1) offering to drop mine off and let them borrow it for a few months. Thinking about it it was naive of me to think FD may not have had access to a DK2.
i was so excited when FD officially added support for it as the DK2 was a huge improvement over the version 1 (albeit with a smaller FOV)
I am on my 5th VR headset since then but (for elite) i dont think any VR headset will offer the jump that the DK1 to DK2 offered thanks to its full 6DOF tracking.... and i still think for initial wow factor for new users Elite dangerous is still right up there with the best VR experiences. (flying out of a space station facing an ELW whilst standing on the bridge of your ship still blows my mind

Oh yes, I was hanging out there for a few years after FFE. Left when I thought there would never be any news about a new Elite game.

I'm a complete newbie by comparison to many here, registered and started playing in September 2022. Born in '87 so I missed out on the first game's release by virtue of not existing yet.
November 2013 for me, backed on Kickstarter, learnt my lesson and don't back games based on promised features any more, still playing occasionally..
would be nice to see a 10 yr badge of honour the more I think about it! Of course might be a magnet for unscrupulous target practice for others!

To mark the anniversary there were 40th Anniversary ruby decals available free in the store back in September, but it looks like they're no-longer offered
They included some two-color versions of the decal (most of my other decals are a single color). One version has lettering in gold and background in ruby (metallic red). On the right surface it look niiice

Google stopped including Usenet last year, but here is alt.fan.elite from 2024 and earlier. Oh dear that signal-to-spam ratio has become pretty poor!
Popped in here in Aug 2016 and never left would have been sooner but I was console
