So my man CMM composite depot suddenly doesn't have a selection for docking... Can't figure out why.
No docking permission.

Probably only two large pads with NPCs on both of them.
Or you mean the option to request docking is not showing up... your sensors are off/dead. Either turn them back on or reboot+repair to fix them.

nothing there, I can see the pad and it's not one that retracts to the sub-surface...
A non-retractable pad must mean it's an odyssey settlement?
Check the system status in the left panel, the owning faction of the settlement is probably at war but ground CZs do not activate properly in colonized systems, instead they just deactivate docking.

You mean that when you go to the ship's left panel under "contacts" in order to request docking, the option just isn't there?
I don't know what the cause in your case may be, but one legitimate cause for this is if the settlement is in a state of war, IIRC, in which case docking is suspended. There might be a few other such states, I'm not sure.
