Nonsense - the OP is *entirely* different from someone who exploits the game after the full release:

1) The OP has ticketed the exploit to bring it to Frontier's attention;
2) The game is not yet released - that happens on the 16th of December.

With respect to "killing someone's hard work" - yes, we will all lose progress in a wipe - however, from what Michael Brookes has said, there is likely to be a wipe at the end of Gamma anyway. Fixing exploits is critical at this stage - it would not be good at all if there had to be a wipe post release.

I don't think so - the OP is making us aware that there is a trivial exploit that can amass huge quantities of credits in a short period and also that this exploit has been duly ticketed to Frontier. The existence of this exploit may well necessitate a wipe - again we are being forewarned of that.

If the OP had not ticketed the exploit to Frontier then I would agree.

The OP is not the first one who has detected this exploit because commanders have seen other commanders in Beta 3.9, flying around with anacondas and other expensive stuff just after the full wipe.

You have to be self absorbed to read the OP and think he was doing anything more than what we are all here to do until this game launches.

Your job is not to play this game for your own progress.

Your job is to try and break things and ticket them.

You are supposed to be a play tester but that doesn't mean you have to act like a complete tool.

To be honest reporting these things is generally a good thing because it supports the integrity of the game. Really not a fan of cheating and exploiting.

Ok a) it has to be a bug - the Video from Anthony Jones shows he's still Harmless, Pennyless and Aimless.
Also b) for those people who are asking about how to do it: DON'T! Flying around in an Anaconda before December 16th will pretty much spoil the game for you... in a really really bad way!

So even if you discover the bug I'd suggest you don't exploit it for your own sake... but that's just me.... You have been warned

I agree totally. And its pretty rough having the most expensive ships, the insurance cost and repair costs are very very high.

This exploit didnt work in 3.9. Trust me. And yes, alot of players send messages and ask about it. Dont. Try the game, find exploits and bug, ticket them. Come release we can all relax a bit!

Unfortunately due to the game using P2P, it's easy to hack and give yourself as much money as you like. They did make it harder, but it's still possible :/

They need to build in some kind of parity checking. Something similar to how the blockchain in bitcoins works but on a much smaller and less intensive scale.

It's not a hack and it is only been possible since gamma.

I will not say how it is done so if people could stop asking that would be nice. There does seem to be different variants on a similar thing from what I can gather. It's down math at the end of the day and should be easily fixed.

Elite is not a competitive game so who really cares. Just have fun playing. If cheating or finding cheats is the way you want to play then have fun doing that. Posting it in the general forums is just childish.

I noticed this last night but didn't think about the logic of it being turned into an exploit. Just tried it now and surely enough it's free credits. Ticketed anyway

I didn't post it the general forum it got moved here. I posted it in gamma support/bugs forum! It's not a cheat it's a bug.

He didn't I first found this thread in the bugs sub forum I can assure you.

As for them having to wipe FD now have no choice because there will be no easy way of knowing who has used the exploit so a clean wipe will be for the best.
