Whilst I am neither for or against a wipe after gamma (what will be will be, happy with that) I don't think an exploit / bug / cheat should be the cause for triggering an entire wipe.
FD need to be able to control and take action on sole accounts to rectify such things, if they can't do this now.. then come release, its going to be an absolute mess.
Failure to prepare.. preparing to fail and all that.
Kudo's to the OP for ticketing it.
Agreed.
As other folks have said in other posts, the build we are currently testing is probably not the same build/state internal FD folks are testing.
This exploit may be at the core of the program and may require extensive workaround to stamp it out...who knows?
FD's internal testers may have caught this several weeks/months ago and sent it to the developers and the devs said, "oh man, it's gonna take a huge work around to stamp this out'
This may be why FD is now telling it's players, 'Prepare for a wipe'...dunno
The only thing that is a little disconcerting as others have stated is what happens when the next cheat/exploit is discovered that may be at the core of the program itself? are they gonna wipe then? or just monitor and take away the creds as they pop up thru QA?
As someone who personally saw an exploit EXPLODE in SWG (after NGE) which allowed for you to level your Jedi in a couple hours, everyone was doing it.. Sony did nothing because there were so many and it cheapened the experience for all..
exploits have a way of leaking via the internet..

Props to the OP, he did the right thing..
