Already have 50million credits

They need cheat testing mechanisms. For example: If i, by using a sidewinder, manage to make more than 1.000.000 (random number) in an hour then i cheat. Simple test.
Sound an alarm or something and have someone to investigate it.

The reason for the wipe is another... we dont all start with the same ships...

If you can do something to make money by any means that doesnt involve altering the game code or network traffic then it isnt "cheating".

It is exploiting though. Shame there is no current policy defining such things.
When the game is released, I hope such things will result in a stat wipe first and for repeat offenders bans... not just ban's to solo (that still affects our game) but account bans, especially if the person doing it is not reporting it for the good of the game.

Exploiting obvious bugs in the code could be construed as cheating.

I disagree, and there are parallels in real life such as where people have found "exploits" in supermarket special offers which amounted to free money and those people were not liable by law. In my book no player has any obligation to refrain from doing something that the unaltered game allows.

This is a huge discussion here and in every other online game as well.
A player just doing what the game allows him to do can't be punished or even be banned.
Think about it not always from the side of notorious players looking for ways to cheat. What if its a mechanic to be encountered by a fresh player, who thinks this is working as it should?
This is always and in every game a sensitive issue.

Which is why FD need to have such a policy ready for release and documented in the terms & conditions / eula.
As with other games, this will probably come when its already too late and the game has been exploited / hacked to death... yes, it won't prevent it, but without such then its a case of 'no where says I can't so I will...' sort of attitude.

There's no need for anger lol your on the internet all I'm doing is offering a contra to your argument....

Although it is starting to sound like you've found the credit exploit and don't want FD to wipe your ill gotten credits.

Lol no anger here, sorry if you offended because I caught you in a lie.

Yeah, and im sure those people got away with millions. One thing is to do some occasional cheat. Exploiting system like there is no tommorrow is another thing. Me, i dont do any cheats, becouse cheating IS lame.

Some exploits have been openly posted openly on other sites/forums unrelated to FD with a complete A,B,C of how to do it.

The main one I really don't think is an exploit as such, more just a kind of bug and being lucky enough for all the things to be in the right place at the right time, plus you will get a heavy fine from the game system in place for doing it already. But it can increase your money rapidly haven't tried testing it myself for various reasons. I have ticketed it along with many others that I saw in the thread so I hope this loophole will be closed pretty quickly, yes you can make a lot of money in a few seconds but you try it in a non anarchy system and you are in deep s...t. So maybe its a game mechanic built in for that system i dont know.

The accounts with very large sums of cash will be wiped. Everyone elses accounts will not be touched. Also logs are available to easily find those who abused this. A full scale wipe will not go down, this is just the first of many instances where this will happen. I am pretty sure they will treat it as such. Server integrity, longevity and preservation is a must to achieve a proper server environment. Wiping everyone would prove amateur at best.

Wow i hope they fix this bug in the next update and do a wipe right then start us all fresh to find out any more of them.

If Frontier can't stop this without wipes, then the game will fail. Frontier likely has tools that can scan the player database and wipe individuals who exploit.

The exploit you are talking about is long gone. This thread is regarding a totally new one. And it can be fixed easily as well.

No the one I am talking about isnt probably the one you are (if that makes sense) there are several places posting exploits so dont assume that it may be related to something that was in the past.

Everyone online game always has exploits/bugs. This will never change, but we can't mass wipe every time a new one is found.

We cannot expect total wipes in the full release every time someone finds a bug/exploit. Frotnier should be able to selectively wipe those who used the exploits/bugs.

No he should not! Frontier can selectively wipe unless everyone does it.

Of course we cant expect a wipe whenever a new exploit is acknowledged, but up until official release I think it should be wipes.
After release, unless something really horrible is detected that ruins the entire game for everyone, there should be no wipes.

Edit:

As for how to do this, i have no clue but ive read a few threads on people finding several missions for the same target (assasination missions) and each of them paying a good amount.
Some have 4-5 missions on the same NPC with a combined payout of nearly a million.

RIGHT GAMME WAS ADVERTISED AS HEADSTART

im sick of those whipes every stupid mmo is able to work there logs and bann cheater or whipe illegal goods

the whipes where ok it was beta... BUT THIS IS OUR HEADSTART it was said gamma will be headstart for backers and mercenary edition

its like some idiot gets acess to your pc and deltes all and every save file of every game you love and want to continue....and you have to start it all over again

in game economies are very important. and bugs like this tip the scales big time. this bug needs fixing. they have 20 days to do it.
while i do agree that this should be able to be sorted without a wipe, if thats the only option, then thats the only option.

the sooner its fixed the better.

A Special Place In Hell: A level they reserve for child molesters and people who take unfair advantage from exploits (and not reporting them!).
