Question: Does anyone use Slopey's tool v. 3.093 and does it work with Gamma 1.0?

Hello, Commanders...

I am trying to get Slopey's tool version 3.093 (the latest, as of Nov. 23, 2014) to update when using ED Gamma 1.0, but as yet have not been successful. I started the game at the Lave system, but the lave system isn't even registered in Slopey's tool database (yet).

Has anyone figured out how to make it update to one's current in- game circumstances, and would they mind sharing with us?

many thanks,
CMDR Raj Williams

You have to add commodity prices for the system and station you're at to add it to the database. It doesn't do it automatically, it relies on crowdsourcing.

Yeah - it was getting confused about the download size. I've uploaded 3.0.9.4 which should solve the issue going forward :)

Get it from: http://www.slopey.com/ED/BPC.exe

No drama... - it was just caught in an endless loop is all as the download size didn't match the size the webserver reported (for some reason). Fixed in the new release.

here ya go from his main thread

I'm not using it, and I don't expect I will. Doing my own research is more enjoyable to me, and gives me a sense of accomplishment. Using third party software like that would feel too much like cheating, or at least like playing in easy mode. I'd prefer for it to be blocked.

well for some of us. its just a excel sheet already formatted for us. for example i am in the midgard area of the galaxy. no distance data no nothing, all data is entered in manually, and sure i could just put all prices in a data sheet, this program allows for me to parse all the data that i have collected, so this cheating statement is only valid for areas in the "starter" zones. go out farther than 30ly and suddenly its the same as everyone using excel, but this person was kind enough to give us their own works formatted spreadsheet.

No point replying to hardcore luddites. Anything more tech than pen and paper are "cheating" for them. You cannot reason with religious fundamentalists.

I'm using the web based one and it works to a degree. But its getting very difficult to use because of the massive increase in the number of stations in the game now. I've found some oddities with it too when giving wrong info on prices. I'm sure it will get more accurate as people upload data.
