I'd love to be able to write down notes both on an in-ship general notepad (perhaps organized by user-defined tabs) and on the galaxy map.
I'd use the galaxy map to notate my planned route, for instance, and would also notate anything interesting in a given system - e.g. rare commodities, recently traded commodity prices.
The general notebook I'd use for all sorts of things like notating where I stumbled across awesome equipment that I perhaps didn't have the funds to outfit first time, but plan to come back to. Or to notate the name of a Commander I stumbled across in chat.
Sure, I can open up a laptop and take notes (or use a pen and paper!), but I'd really like to be able to do this in-game.
Heck, a simple non-tabbed virtual sheet of paper accessible from the ship menus would be an awesome start, in my humble opinion.
