I was thinking precisely the same thing - that or the cover of a 1970s SF paperback.

Elite Dangerious has a very Chris Foss / Bruce Pennington aesthetic, which is high praise.

These are taken inside of the sidewinder with free view. If you look up the cockpit has a wide open window. You can turn off HUD by pressing Shift Alt G.
