Hardware & Technical Best / Cheapest Gfx Card!?

My 7870 seems to cope with things admirably. Don't know what they're going for now though.

People have reported good results with 7770's too but now that they are no longer being stocked by the reputable suppliers they are only available from ebay etc for inflated prices :(

The 7770 was basically rebadged into the R7 250X, which should run the game acceptably for very cheap yes. In this case though I'd pay the extra £15 for the 750 (non-Ti).

Your 7870 is now basically the R9 270X, the slightly bigger brother of the R9 270 card I linked in my first post.

I recently upgraded my gpu to an EVGA 770 GTX and I'm getting 60fps in most places on the highest graphics settings. :)

I got a GTX 760 2Gb and Elite recommend the high setting to me.

http://www.scan.co.uk/products/2gb-...-6008mhz-gddr5-gpu-1085mhz-boost-1150mhz-core

its a whole new level from my old Gtx 460!

I've got pretty much the same card (Asus Nvidia GeForce GTX 760 DirectCU II OC 2GB GDDR5), I barely see it drop below 60fps @ 720P (60fps due to VSync, 720P due to my monitor only doing that at best).

IMO though the recommended graphics level is broken. It recommended high for my laptop with its poxy "HD Graphics 3000" and while it'll play it's unplayable IYSWIM.

I suspect the GTX 750Ti would be a good investment for this game.

I've got a GTX 970 and it seems completely overkill for the current game (planetside landings and such may be different).

Isn't the GTX 750ti a good and cheap card? I'm pretty sure it does not even require a power supply connection, just plug it into the slot and you're set.

Around £80-£100 I believe, with 2GB of video ram and very respectable performance.

Depends on the version some of them DO require a power connection.

but on performance/£ it gets beaten up by the R9 270, so long as you have the 6-pin power connector.

TBH not sure about this I have a 2gb 750Ti, (Gigabyte Windforce Edition), that requires a 6pin power connection and it walks all over my wife's R9-270x 4gb in every game we play together.

I have ED running with everything on high and constantly getting 120Fps only drops when inside a station but even then its still above 60+Fps on a 1080 Monitor

Have a look here: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/productlist.php?groupid=2913&catid=2918 they have some amazing black Friday deals up right now with more deals being posted up every day.

Depending on your PSU though I would most definitely look more at Nvidia cards rather than AMD as I find that they run cooler, quieter and more efficiently. the drivers also seem to give out less problems than AMD ones do but I think that AMD are improving.

Im sick of playing ED on "LOW", i want to experience it how it should be played, On "HIGH" ..
Funds are a little low at the mo, so what is the best gfx card + system i can get where i get to put ED on "HIGH"
but being the lowest price!?
I would love a super gaming machine, but we are talking £1500 + ...

Cheers!

I got a GTX 750 ti. I play on high. It has new architecture, does not need power, it get's it's power from the pci slot I guess. I paid I think around $140.00

crickey! did i just see a whole load of 295x for less than 500? i'd be lucky to get change from a 1000 euros for one of them in spain.

Yeah some very good deals with more being added every day this week.

If I could drag myself away from Nvidia I would be very tempted with a couple of them for a X-Fire setup but it would also mean buying a new case and PSU :(

I got the 750 ti and it runs a dream not issues so far . Runs on high/ultra cool n quiet . As been said b4 you generally can just plug n play no need to chance psu etc

I just added a R9 285 from sapphire to my i5 3750k. Everything on high without issues. Was just about 225€ in Germany.

I have an pentium I5, 4Gb RAM (Bought for £120) and bought a Radeon HD 7770 (1Ghz edition) for £30.

Plays at 60FPS.

For a Black Widow joystick from Amazon for £23.

Total build <£200 + about £90 for Elite, beta, lifetime sub, name, loaded ship etc.

This is the most I have ever spent on a game. It's pretty excellent though.
