When in the commodity's menu, in the column marked (Galactic Average) at the top is a Arrow pointing down, click on it and a drop down menu of nearby stations, click one by one to see the current prices.

I had an idea about trade prices for neighboring systems being updated by the players moving between systems, bringing the information with them.
